90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After Recap: Caught In The Crossfire

I don’t know what’s worse, watching Jess constantly talk about sex with her new man or listening to Tania Maduro complain constantly. Okay, one is a little worse than the other. Either way, it’s obvious some of these couples are bombs just waiting to go off. Last night’s episode of 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After proved no matter how much time has passed, some things never change.

Colt Johnson discovers a new side of his girlfriend, Jess Caroline. Angela Deem receives some shocking news from her doctor. Elizabeth Potthast Castravet asks her dad for money. Larissa Dos Santos Lima decides to get back into the dating scene. Paul Staehle makes a decision for him and his family. Let’s get straight into 90 Day Fiance Happily Ever After the recap!

Colt (Las Vegas, Nevada) & his mom Debbie ex-wife Larissa (Brazil)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Caught in the Crossfire

After having sex with his new girlfriend, Jess things become awkward. Just when I thought she was recovering from temporary insanity, she reveals she is upset that Colt is hiding their relationship. After some prodding, Colt promises to talk to his mother, Debbie about his new boo. These two are a train wreck waiting to happen. While out on a date, Colt asks what Jess likes about him. She just giggles and says “you like sex.” Girl, you have to get out more. If liking sex is your only requirement for a relationship, Colt should do. But I have a suspicion that things may change once she gets her green card.

Larissa and a friend take a pole dancing class to get their sexy back. Her friend suggests setting her up on a blind date with a man who is “very into wine and fancy things.” Well I’m sure he won’t be into Larissa then. Regardless, I can’t wait to see how this unfolds. Something tells me this date should be interesting.

On Colt’s last night in Chicago, Jess introduces him to her friends. When he mentions he still lives with his mother, the group is visibly disturbed. The conversation shifts when Jess tells her friends in Spanish that he continuously talks to another woman.

Colt claims that she is just a friend from the gym. Ummm… Colt, you couldn’t have come up with a more believable lie? Jess’s friends interrogate him and point out numerous red flags until she is visibly upset. When he decides to end the night early, he is shocked when she doesn’t agree immediately. As the night goes on, Colt becomes suspicious that Jess could be hiding something herself.

Paul (Louisville, Kentucky) & Karine (Brazil)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Caught in the Crossfire

Paul and Karine Staehle are back and he is just as annoying as ever. She must have the patience of a saint to have lasted this long with him. I would have been running for the hills a long time ago. Despite their tumultuous relationship, they are still together. They plan to finally move to the US now that Karine’s green card has been approved. She is hesitant to leave the only home she has ever known behind for a new life in America.  She is also concerned about whether Paul will be able to secure employment to support her and their son, Pierre. Given the fact that Paul has had numerous issues in the past with finances due to his background, her apprehension is warranted.

Paul calls his mother to ask if he and his family can move in when leaves Brazil. His mom quickly shuts the idea down. She knows that her son would NEVER leave if he is allowed in the house. She agrees to help him get a hotel for a short time, until they can find something else.  I don’t blame his mom.  I wouldn’t want him in my house either. Paul seems like he would be the house guest from hell. Meanwhile, Karine talks to her mom about her upcoming move. She is worried about leaving her family and the language barrier. Her mother is more worried about Paul and his erratic behavior.

Asuelu is still attempting to assert his independence, despite the lectures from Kalani and his father- in- law. He is struggling to adapt to American culture, while still trying to maintain some of his own traditions. He speaks to some of his Samoan friends about his desire to go back to visit his homeland, as well as his issues at home. I almost feel sorry for the guy. In an effort to woo his wife, Asuelu brings Kalani flowers and chocolate. They are finally going on their first “romantic” date. without the kids. She is shocked when she finds out that they will be throwing axes, rather than dinner and a movie. Although this isn’t what she had in mind, have a good time.  Asuelu reveals his desire to take the children to visit his family. Kalani is worried they may not be able to afford such an expensive trip, but agrees. No wonder her parents feel like they run the house, they are probably paying most of the bills.

Elizabeth (Tampa, FL) & Andrei (Moldova)

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Caught in the Crossfire

Elizabeth tries again to explain to Andrei why her family is upset about his last-minute wedding announcement. Part of her believes that he doesn’t want her family to come and that is why he didn’t give them any time to plan. He doesn’t like her family, so it’s not far fetched. He points out that his family wasn’t in attendance for their first wedding. After not being given a choice, Elizabeth agrees to go along with his plan.

Elizabeth meets with her sisters at the pool to convince them to get on board with the wedding. She is instantly met with resistance and claims that the country is dangerous. When she reveals that Andrei wants their father to pay for the wedding, no one is surprised.

90 Day Fiancé Happily Ever After Recap: Caught in the Crossfire

Elizabeth visits her father to beg him to pay for her second wedding in Moldova. He is shocked that Andrei had the audacity not to come with her to ask. If I was her father, the day she got married she would have been cut off. When Elizabeth begins crying, her dad softens quicker than butter in a hot skillet.

Does this man not understand he will always fund their lifestyle if he doesn’t force them to be independent? Andrei has a clear disdain for Elizabeth’s family, but has no problem taking money from them. She returns home to inform Andrei that his monetary demands have been met. He giggles with glee and wants to know the budget. This guy is so entitled, it’s ridiculous. He actually suggests they have a $50,000 wedding.

Angela goes to the doctor to get a second opinion on her fertility options. She is hopeful now that she has had her first period in three years. During the ultrasound, she finds out that instead of eggs, she may have fibroids or ovarian cancer. She needs to get a biopsy immediately.  Angela’s biggest worry is no longer a baby with Michael IIesanmi. It’s her health. As crazy as Angela is, there is something endearing about her this episode.

Despite their arguments, Tania Maduro and Syngin Colchester decide to make a fresh start. The days of shed life are over! They now have their own apartment, that doesn’t contain a warden Tania’s mother.

After Tania is injured in a car accident, Syngin is tasked with being their household’s sole provider.  She worries when he begins working, he will fall back into old habits with alcohol. Syngin is frustrated that his wife doesn’t trust him. I’m just surprised he hasn’t cracked yet under her continuous nagging. The man has left his family, home and was forced to live in a shed with this woman. That would drive anyone to drink a beer at 10 am.
