Kary Brittingham Speaks Out On Split From Husband Eduardo Brittingham; Says “Starting Over at 50 Is Scary”

Kary Brittingham had a rough season on Real Housewives of Dallas. I actually really liked her last season and I thought that she got a really raw deal having to put up with LeeAnne Locken the whole time. Kary definitely didn’t deserve it, but fans were still divided on her prickly demeanor.

This season is a whole different story. Kary has fought nonstop with everyone and been accused of bullying. One time bestie D’Andra Simmons ultimately seemed to get past their issues. But newbie Tiffany Moon was far from pleased with Kary’s constant partying antics. Now we have a much better understanding of why Kary was acting the way she was acting.

Kary announced on part one of the RHOD reunion that she and husband, Eduardo Brittingham have decided to split. She tearfully revealed that her marriage was falling apart during filming. This ultimately caused her to act out in order to mask the pain she was going through. I have to admit, I don’t think anyone is surprised by this reveal. Kary never really seemed into her husband. It always seemed like she was planning for their demise. Still, it’s always sad when a marriage breaks up. Especially when kids are involved.

Now Kary is speaking out about her split. In a recent Instagram post, Kary wrote a lengthy caption to describe her feelings on the matter. Kary started, “I’ve shared my life and my family with you on camera for the last two years-all of the ups and downs. As we go in to tonight’s episode, I want you to know that Eduardo and I have made the very tough decision to separate. He has been the most amazing father these past 17 years to my four kids and for that I am eternally grateful.”

She continued, “We are stepping into this new journey as co-parents together and while I know it’s going to be an adjustment, I am confident that we can handle this next chapter of life with the same amount of mutual respect and love we’ve shared with each other for so long. I am so thankful for my amazing kids and friends for surrounding me during this new transition.”

Kary went on to thank the fans. She wrote, “I want to thank each and every one of you for welcoming my family into your homes- embracing us during the tough times and laughing with us through the fun times. Starting over at 50 is scary and change can be hard, but I know that we are doing the right thing for ourselves and our children.”

She also asked for prayers and said, “If you believe in the power of prayer, please pray for us as we walk through this uncharted territory Love, Kary.”

Wow. That was heavy. No matter what you think of her, you have to admit that Kary is really going through it. And it’s clear in this post. What got me is when she mentioned how scary it is to start over at 50. No small feat indeed. Of course I think that Kary will be fine. She’s got money and now a little bit of fame, no matter how difficult that may be. But what she really needs is healing. And I hope she finds that along the way.
