Monique Samuels Real Housewives Of Potomac

Monique Samuels Is Reportedly Filming A New Reality Show Called Love & Marriage: DMV

2022 just started, but it’s already full of surprises. Monique Samuels is reportedly headed back to reality TV, but don’t expect to see her holding a champagne flute on The Real Housewives of Potomac. Instead, according to TV Deets, Monique is about to star in a brand new series, Love & Marriage: DMV.

The last time we saw Monique on our screens, she was unloading a binder full of secrets onto her castmates. Since then, she’s been busy creating YouTube videos and peddling essential oils. More reality TV didn’t seem like it was on the horizon for her — especially after an interview last year on Pay Attention, Puh-Lease!, a podcast from Hollywood Life, where she revealed that she wasn’t interested in returning to The Real Housewives. She said that didn’t like the way production and the network “handled things,” and she wasn’t interested in the combative nature of the show. At the time, she explained, “The whole entire landscape of that show is very stressful. It’s very negative. I don’t feel like sitting around arguing with a bunch of women. I’m just over that.”

Apparently, enough time has passed since her exit from RHOPand she’s ready to get back into the reality TV world. If you aren’t familiar with Love & Marriage, it’s basically the Oprah Winfrey Network’s answer to The Real Housewives. However, it’s a little more than just “sitting around arguing with a bunch of women” because the show focuses more on the couples rather than just the women. The original show in the franchise, Love & Marriage: Huntsville, follows wealthy, Black couples who are socialites and entrepreneurs. Love & Marriage: DMV will be the second installment in the franchise, and it’s set to follow the same format. According to TV Deets, Monique and Chris Samuels will be the glue that brings the cast together, which will feature three other couples from the DC, Maryland, and Virginia region.

The series is produced by Carlos King and his production company Kingdom Reign Entertainment, so you know it will be good and juicy. We all appreciate Carlos for his contributions to some of the most legendary episodes of The Real Housewives. And over the last few years, he’s been expanding his footprint in the reality TV world by spearheading other successful ensemble shows like Love & Marriage: HuntsvilleBET Presents: The Encore, and Belle Collective.

Production for Love & Marriage: DMV is reportedly kicking off this month, but Monique has yet to confirm that she’s actually participating in this show. OWN hasn’t officially announced it, nor has Carlos King. However, it’s not totally unbelievable that they would expand the Love & Marriage franchise this way. OWN has been doubling down on their unscripted content recently, and centering their next series around a well-known (and sometimes polarizing) reality star is the perfect way to get people talking.
