Meghan King Calls Herself A “Love Addict” And Compares Her Last Marriage To An Arranged Marriage

Meghan King has been doing a lot of self reflection as of late. And with good reason. She is recently going through her third divorce, this time to Cuffe Owens. The two only dated for 3 weeks before getting hitched and it ended almost as quickly as it began. The former Real Housewives of Orange County star and nephew of President Joe Biden called it quits after only 2 months.

Now she’s finally revealing a bit about what went wrong. As reported by Us Weekly, Meghan appeared on a recent episode of Jeff Lewis’ SiriusXM podcast. Meaghan said of Cuffe, “He said all the right things and I and the families were a good, good fit. And he seemed to grow up similarly to me.” She added, “It was almost like an arranged marriage, I felt like, except we chose one another.”

When asked if she saw any red flags, Meghan admitted that she did. She explained, “I think that I was so ready for a partner. I have three little kids that I have all the time pretty much. And so, I just really want some help and I want a partnership.”

As for her previous relationships, Meghan was married to her college sweetheart for four years. They broke up in 2011 and then Meghan married Jim Edmonds in 2014. The couple’s rocky marriage was on full display during RHOC. Meghan has since called their relationship “embarrassing” and said that she was “in denial.” The two called it quits in 2019 and their messy divorce played out in the media. It was finalized in 2021, much to Meghan’s relief.

Meghan said of her first marriage, “I was married when I was 22. Yeah, so I feel like that one didn’t count, you know, that was like a practice.” With regards to Jim, despite the issues, she called it a “real, legitimate marriage and divorce.” She continued, “Then this last one is gonna be annulled, so I’ve had three weddings and two marriages.”

She then admitted to Jeff that she considers herself a “love addict” and craves the security of a relationship. Meghan concluded, “I love falling in love, but you know what I like more than falling in love? I like the stable part. Like the honeymoon phase is great and everything, but I really just want stability and I want a partner. And so that’s what I’m looking for over and over and over and I’m getting it wrong. So something is off.”
