Producers Are Reportedly Struggling To Cast The Real Housewives Of New York City Season 14

Is finding the next generation of New York City Housewives easier said than done? Just weeks after Bravo revealed that The Real Housewives of New York City is doing a complete reboot for season 14, Radar Online reports that the producers are struggling to find a cast.

As you know, Bravo announced that The Real Housewives of New York City is getting a total overhaul next season, leaving the fan favorites and OGs to fight for scraps on an upcoming spinoff tentatively called RHONYLegacy. When it comes to season 14 of the flagship show, RHONY’s casting team said they were looking for an “organic, diverse group of friends” based in Manhattan who live “sophisticated, aspirational lifestyles.” But, according to Radar Online, those high qualifications are what’s making the show extra tricky to cast. Sources claim that Bravo’s producers have been interviewing women in their 30s and 40s for the show. They’re just “not having success” finding women that check all of the boxes.

Since the reboot was announced, we’ve heard rumors about Julia Fox being in the running for an apple. Former RHONY star Kelly Bensimon suggested that fraudster and phony socialite Anna Delvey would fit the show well. And if you spend more than five minutes on Housewives Twitter, you’ll see dedicated RHONY fans conjuring up endless suggestions of potential Housewives for the reboot.

Clearly, there are plenty of creative options for the show’s future, so we have no idea how true any of this is about the producers struggling to bring it to life. It’s not like unfounded casting rumors are a new thing for RHONY. Plus, we know that Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is a great season of Housewives. When the first season of RHONY came around, it wasn’t like Jill Zarin, Ramona Singer, and Luann De Lesseps just dropped out of the sky with microphones strapped to their bodies, ready to make TV. These things take time!

The report from Radar Online claims that interviews are actively happening, but no decisions have been made yet. So we’ll probably have to endure a few more months of casting rumors before we find out anything solid about season 14 of RHONY.
