RHOSLC’s Monica Garcia ‘Not OK’ With Mom After ‘Heavy’ Scenes

Last night’s episode of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City showed the ladies at Angie Katsanevas‘ house for a Greek Easter lunch. There was a lamb roasting on a spit, flashy decor, and stacks of cash so guests could make it rain while doing a traditional Greek dance.

There was also fighting. It looked like it was going to be Angie vs. Monica Garcia, but actually ended up mostly being between Monica and her own mother. Monica says that she and her mom still aren’t on great terms.

Monica got angry when her mom tried to stop a conversation

It started when Angie pulled Monica aside to confront Monica about her role in spreading the rumor that Angie’s husband was cheating on her with other men. Things had started to get lightly heated. Then Monica’s mom, Linda/”LD,” came over and told them to stop.

Monica didn’t take it well, telling her mom, “Don’t f*cking pull this sh*t with me when you don’t have my back.” It was apparent that Monica and Linda already had some deep-seated loyalty issues.

She wishes Linda would’ve stayed out of it

The lunch marked the first time Linda met Monica’s co-stars. Linda’s flirtiness with Angie’s widowed dad was already kind of uncomfortable. Her and Monica’s loud argument didn’t help.

“I felt like she absolutely sided with them. It was more important for her to have fun and dance and talk to the men and, you know, whatever than it was to handle what was going on with us. Yeah, I felt absolutely betrayed.”

The relationship hasn’t recovered

Us Weekly asked Monica if her and her mom are on better terms since the Easter fight. They aren’t. “My mother and I are not OK right now, still.”

Monica sad she bawled while watching it back. “I know I’m involved in what we’re watching, but it felt like one of the most emotional things I’ve ever seen on Housewives. It was so real and so raw. That day in and of itself was so heavy.”

Monica admitted during a confessional that she wished for a different mom. She reflected on that very public admission.

“I promised myself when I started this journey that I would be a hundred percent open, and my relationship with my mother has never been great. It is very up, down, up, down, up, down all the time. And that was real. I have spent a lot of time throughout my life wishing I had a mother that just would always support me, have my back, that I could trust, that I could count on. And I’m sure she has times where she wishes she had a different daughter.”

She added, “I think that’s the problem in our relationship is that there’s not a mother-daughter relationship. It’s like a sister relationship.”

Monica said this isn’t even worst fight we’ll see between her and Linda.

RHOSLC airs Tuesday nights at 9/8c on Bravo.
