Despite the drama between Monica Garcia and her co-stars, she says she’s getting along great with Bravo fans.
The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City newbie has been the focal point of much of the show’s drama this season. Although her beef with fellow newcomer Angie Katsenvas is no longer, Monica has moved on to other feuds. Yep — with Lisa Barlow … and her mom.
If you remember, Monica and her mother had a massive falling out at Angie’s Greek Easter. There were expletives, tears, and thrown shoes??? Allegedly, at least. Many of Monica’s co-stars were upset by how she spoke to her mother. But are they in a category of their own?
“I have been overwhelmed with the love from fans and viewers. But I definitely got a lot of hate after the Greek Easter episode,” Monica told OK at BravoCon. “But especially being here, talking to people face to face. It’s been beautiful to just see how many people actually feel like they can relate to me and that they feel seen.”

“My mom and I, our relationship is so volatile. I think it dates back to my whole childhood,” Monica continued.
“When I turned 12, my mom decided that she wanted to chase her dream, so she dropped me off with a family in Pennsylvania and went and lived in New York,” she said. “My dad left me when I was four, and then my mom left me, so I have major, major abandonment issues because of that. They were friends that my mom and I knew, and they had moved to Pennsylvania, and she called and asked them if she could leave me there.”
Monica’s mother isn’t the only RHOSLC cast member she’s arguing with. She’s currently in a legal battle with Heather over a missing Beauty Lab + Laser payment. And based on Heather’s earlier comments, saying Monica “lies about everything,” an end to their feud doesn’t appear near.
