It’s been some time since we’ve seen or heard anything about The Real Housewives of Atlanta, but the series OG, Shereé Whitfield, hopes she’s among the ladies asked back.
“We’re still waiting to hear,” she said while promoting her newest show, The Traitors, with friend and fellow Real Housewives star Tamra Judge. “I think they’re doing some casting, and it’s gonna be a little shakeup, which I’m okay with. I think it’s needed.”
It’s unclear if Shereé, who has been fired and hired a few times in the past, will make her way back for Season 16. However, Tamra, who is also familiar with being put on pause, is confident she will. “Well, you don’t have anything to worry about,” she responded, to which Shereé said, “I hope not.”
Shereé: Word on the street about RHOA Season 16…
It’s no secret that the last few seasons of RHOA have been subpar compared to the earlier years. After the success of Bravo’s Real Housewives of New York reboot, rumors began circulating that the same could happen. However, sources denied the network had set anything in stone.
Besides, some of Atlanta’s marquee players feel it’s too soon for a reboot anyway.
“I think there needs to be a shakeup. I don’t think it needs to be a total reboot, but I definitely think it needs to be a shakeup,” Kenya Moore said at BravoCon 2023. As for the franchise’s longest-running Housewife, Kandi Burruss, she’s trying to keep an open mind.
“Every time they [Bravo] decide they want to change people, it’s like, sometimes I’m sad when the people leave … and then sometimes, they’ll get somebody new and I’m like, ‘Okay,’” she said. “So I try to stay open-minded.”
We’ll wait to see what’s happening with RHOA over the next few months. In the meantime, you can watch Shereé and former Housewives star Phaedra Parks in Season 2 of The Traitors. That premieres January 12 at 9/8c on Peacock.
