Kyle Richards Kept Separation From Daughters While ‘Processing’ News

Even though many fans have questioned the truth of Kyle Richards’ life happenings in 2023-24, it’s hard to deny that she’s been going through it. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13 has chronicled the process of Kyle and Mauricio Umansky’s separation.

However, due to several factors, fans have called foul on the storyline, accusing Kyle and Bravo of manufacturing the storyline to keep the Housewife and show relevant. Even if that were the case, faking a separation would have to take a toll on a person.

Despite a general unwillingness to share specific details, Kyle maintains the truth of her story and hasn’t shied away from sharing how hard it’s been. And even if true, it would make sense for her to withhold certain details; this is her family after all. Here’s how she explained it.

Kyle Richards talks the toll of fame on her family

In an interview with E! News, Kyle shared the difficulty in processing her separation, both on and off camera. “I’ve shown so much over these 13 years of my life,” she said. “The first scene we shot all together, I said, ‘My husband and I are having a hard time.’ And that was very hard for me to share on camera, because I was processing that myself.”

Kyle added, “We hadn’t even shared that with our daughters yet.” She further reflected on the price of fame, sharing, “It’s definitely rough when there’s so much going on at home. I mean this is already a lot to process in itself and to have the whole world talking about it – that’s what it feels like – is a lot.”

Granted, she wasn’t at all oblivious to all the good that stardom had done her family: “I am grateful for everything that my mom being in the spotlight has brought into our life, so it’s really, it’s hard to say. But now it’s rough.”

As for where things go from here, the star explained, “Right now, we are just taking it a day at a time. And we still live in the same house, and we get along. Our girls never grew up with fighting in the house and it’s still not like that. We just don’t argue.”

She added, “It’s just trying to work through things and taking it slowly.”

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
