Fans aren’t the only ones who think Homeless Not Toothless is a goofy name for a charity. Sharon Stone isn’t a fan of it either, despite having a hand in starting the organization.
The charity has become infamous to Bravo viewers thanks to Dorit Kemsley introducing it to the world via Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Sharon is a founder and a board member, and she revealed to InStyle that she didn’t agree with the name. She had some other ideas for what to call the charity.
New teeth and a dream
Sharon helped launch Homeless Not Toothless years ago along with a dentist named Dr. Jay Grossman. Their entire mission is to provide “free, quality dental services to the unhoused.” As the name of the organization suggests, helping the unhoused find housing isn’t part of their mission.
In Sharon’s interview, they covered a variety of topics about her life and career. However, the journalist interviewing her couldn’t help but ask about Homeless Not Toothless. That’s when Sharon revealed her thoughts on the unusual name.
“I wanted to call it something else,” Sharon told the outlet. “But Jay insisted that it be called Homeless Not Toothless.”
The interviewer noted that Sharon responded to the question with a sigh. She admitted that she’d never seen an episode of RHOBH but heard that it became a talking point on the show. Continuing to shift the blame to Dr. Jay, she explained how he handles most of the organization’s day-to-day operations.
Although Sharon didn’t get much of a say in naming the charity, you can’t say that the name isn’t memorable. There are a lot of charities in the world, but we’ll always remember Homeless Not Toothless.
