Vicki Gunvalson, Alexis Bellino Didn’t Give Permission for Videos To Be Used in Political Attack Ad

An election year is upon us, and The Real Housewives of Orange County are involved whether they like it or not. Vicki Gunvalson, Alexis Bellino, and Gina Kirschenheiter just appeared in a political attack ad sponsored by the Wisconsin Democrats. The only problem? They had no idea they were going to be a part of it.

The political group shared a video that showed the RHOC ladies trolling Republican businessman Eric Hovde. He just launched a senate bid in Wisconsin, despite being from California. In an attempt to mock the campaign, the Wisconsin Dems bought Cameos from the RHOC cast and stitched them together to make a hilarious attack ad. Now, according to Radar Online, the ladies are trying to distance themselves from the video.

Trolling via Cameo

“Happy National California Day, @EricHovde!” the Wisconsin Democrats group wrote along with videos of the RHOC cast. “If you’re feeling a little homesick today, don’t worry — we have a special message from a few of your neighbors in Orange County.”

In the video, each of the ladies wished Eric the best of luck with his new gig in Wisconsin. Gina even called him her “neighbor,” noting the fact they’re both from the OC.

“I will miss you so much here in California, and they can’t wait for you to come back. So be back safe,” Vicki said in the video. “Enjoy your journey! Now hurry up! And don’t forget to whoop it up while you’re in Wisconsin. Have some cheese curds.”

Radar Online confirmed that Vicki and Alexis were clueless about the true nature of the Cameo messages. They didn’t know videos would be stitched together for a political ad, let alone a Democratic one.

“No. I didn’t give permission,” Vicki told the outlet.

They asked Gina if she was aware, but her reps didn’t get back to them. It’s probably safe to say she didn’t know either. Meanwhile, Alexis said she’s having her management contact Cameo. It’s not clear what exactly Alexis wants Cameo to do. She just be happy that someone paid the $99 to get a message from her.

While we’re talking prices, let’s dig into the fact that Gina charges $100 for a Cameo. For a video from Vicki, it’s $125. That means the Wisconsin Democrats spent just around $325 on this viral video. That’s money well spent.

TELL US – WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON USING CAMEOS FOR POLITICAL ADS? DO YOU THINK THE RHOC LADIES WERE UPSET WHEN THEY SAW THE VIDEO?
