Brittany Cartwright ‘Deserves Better’ Than Jax Taylor, Says Scheana Shay

Vanderpump Rules star Scheana Shay is defending Brittany Cartwright against her husband, Jax Taylor

The reality star spoke with E! News on the red carpet recently and discussed her feelings about Jax and Brittany’s separation. “I think it’s for the best,” she said. “I think she deserves better, and she deserves a partner who’s going to treat her with respect.”

Jax and Brittany are trying to figure things out after The Valley…

Fans familiar with Jax and Brittany from Vanderpump Rules know that the couple aren’t strangers to fighting. One of their biggest feuds involved Jax’s infidelity with another cast mate during an earlier season. Since then, the pair have reconciled and vowed to make things work for their future selves and children. However, Brittany recently revealed that the duo’s constant fighting has impacted her overall health, causing her to leave their shared home.

“It just wore on me after nine years of dealing with a personality like that,” she said. “We’re very different in a lot of ways, and he has grown in many ways as well.”

Despite his growth, Brittany is unsure if they will end up back together. “I’m not really sure about that situation yet, but for right now, the space is much needed for both of us. I’m just glad that I had the strength to finally take myself out of that situation ‘cause I didn’t think I would ever, ever, ever leave him.”

We’re still in the early stages of The Valley Season 1. However, both reality stars teased that more of their fallout will be shown on television. In a separate interview, when asked if Jax had any regrets about his behavior this season, the House of Villains star said “No” before revealing he’s a “work in progress.”

“Maybe if I was a little short with Brittany at times, maybe I can look back … But for the most part, no. I am who I am. Nothing’s really changed too much — that’s the problem. Nothing’s changed. We’ll see what happens after some therapy and maybe some medication. We’ll see where it goes.”

The Valley continues on Bravo on Tuesdays at 9/8c.
