Ariana Madix Had ‘One Personal Boundary’ Filming Pump Rules Season 11

Vanderpump Rules fans know that Ariana Madix had a tough Season 10. Discovering that Tom Sandoval cheated on her was a rude awakening.

Ariana would go on to benefit from Scandoval’s publicity in several ways. Still, it couldn’t have been easy knowing that she’d have to film alongside Tom again in the future.

So, going into Season 11, Ariana decided to create just one simple boundary for herself. As it turned out, her self-imposed rule was hard to follow at times.

Why Ariana wanted to break her own rule

“I only had one personal boundary,” Ariana told SheKnows. “It was: I’m not having a one-on-one conversation. That was it.” She, of course, meant with Sandoval.

Despite the firmness of that stance, Ariana admitted it was occasionally hard to maintain that boundary. “It’s difficult when sometimes, you know, you do have things that you feel very deeply or that maybe you do want to talk about,” she explained. “But you also know that going there isn’t worth it. If you go down this rabbit hole, you might not come back up from it.”

Ariana also touched on how her boundaries may have turned fans against her at times. “We’ve been taught not to be comfortable with things like female rage,” she said. “We’ve been taught that we have to be like smiling and palatable for everyone in order to be likable.” She added, “Likability in my opinion is a complete and total myth anyways.”

She further touched on her powerlessness when it came to the edit. “But I think that on any show it’s difficult for anyone to see 360 degrees of a person. And so you know, when you’re seeing snippets here and there, I’m not in charge of what snippets are going to be seen.”

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
