Bridgerton’s Nicola Coughlan Reveals Hilarious Experience Meeting Sutton Stracke

There’s one thing that Stassi Schroeder and I have in common, and that’s an unexplainable love for period pieces. Proving that I should probably just be famous already, I also have something in common with Nicola Coughlan from Bridgerton, the series set in the era of my obsession. You see, Sutton Stracke makes her giddy. On this, all I can say is, SAME.

Sutton’s quirky, and she cloaks her nerve-damaged self in cat sweaters, while also owning Ragdolls, which, same. Really, the only thing that separates myself from this Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star is, well, our vastly different bank account balances. Meanwhile, the only thing that separates Nicola from Sutton is, or was, their location. However, this all changed one fateful day in New York City, and Nicola’s now excitedly gushing over her adorable, hysterical met cute with Sut.

Nicola’s chance encounter

While making an appearance on Watch What Happens Live, a caller rang in with a question for Nicola. After learning about the actress’s run-in with Sutton, this fan needed to know all of the deets. Naturally, Nicola was happy to oblige. In fact, when she began answering, her entire face lit up, and her arms began flailing, and in that moment, I realized that Nicola is all of us, with a fancy A-list lifestyle on the side.

“You are not prepared for this story,” Nicola began, adding “I am a big fan of SNL, and I’ve been lucky to go a couple of times. After the show finishes, you go to the after-parties. And we were walking out, and there was fans outside 30 Rock, waiting to meet people. I was waiting for the car, and I heard ‘NICOLA!’”

Turning towards the voice, Nicola noted that Sutton was “in the autograph queue. And I was like, ‘Sutton?’” Nicola then grew elated over the fact that Sutton knew who she was. Moving on with her story, Nicola next explained that she “walked over” to Sutton, “and was like ‘what are you doing?’”

In reply, Sutton explained, “I was out for dinner, and I said to my driver, stop, there’s something happening.” At this, Nicola states that Sutton “jumped out of her car, got in the autograph queue for SNL, and we met. I have a picture with her. I adore her.”

Naturally, Nicola and Andy Cohen then joked “name ‘em.” If you ask me though, we need even more of these positive, fun stories. Especially in these current times.

Former seasons of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills are available to stream over on Peacock.
