Rachel Leviss Apologizes to Katie Maloney for Instagram Post: ‘My Ego Got in the Way’

Rachel Leviss recently admitted her apology to Katie Maloney and Dayna Kathan over a petty move she made after the 2024 iHeartRadio Music Awards. For those who missed it, the former Vanderpump Rules star made a shady repost on her IG Story shortly after the awards.

After April 1, Jo Wenberg shared images from an article that touted Rachel as one of the best-dressed at the awards. In the same article, Katie and Dayna were listed as two of the worst-dressed attendees. Jo included that detail in her IG Story as well.

Rachel, perhaps feeling vindictive, couldn’t help but repost Jo’s story. Not long after the fact, clarity set in, and Rachel decided to apologize. See how she detailed the experience below.

Rachel encouraged Jo’s post slamming Katie

On the April 7 episode of her podcast, Rachel shared her regret over the Instagram story. “I guess my ego got in the way a little bit,” she said. “And I encouraged Jo to post the best and worst showing Katie and Dayna. Then I reposted it.”

Rachel said reposting the story “felt good in the moment,” but she felt some remorse after the fact. She decided she’d have to “take accountability” for her actions.

“I decided that that was not my best decision. Because I am in this space of learning and growing. And also being kind,” she continued. “And it’s so easy to get on the same level as some of these other people. But that’s not who I want to be.”

She further admitted that she “decided to reach out and apologize to Katie and Dayna personally.” Unfortunately for Rachel, this is a no-win situation.

By pointing out that she apologized, she’ll probably be slammed for virtue signaling. But if she’d never said she apologized, she would’ve been criticized for that too.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
