There’s no love lost between Katie Maloney and Lala Kent. The two reality stars reportedly had a falling out during the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 reunion. While they’re no longer friends, Katie admits that cutting ties with her was painful.
On her podcast, Katie says that Lala “moves funny” regarding some of her actions and comments since their fallout. Among the things Katie doesn’t appreciate about Lala is the number of times she’s brought up her ex-husband. Katie and Tom Schwartz divorced in 2022.
The former Vanderpump Rules stars are no longer friends
Breaking up is hard to do, no matter what the circumstances. Katie admitted on the latest episode of her podcast Disrespectfully Yours that distancing herself from Lala was the most difficult friendship breakup she’s ever had. According to Katie, it was “shocking and surprising” that Lala, in her eyes, turned on her at the Season 11 Vanderpump Rules reunion.
In August of 2024, Katie opened up about the tensions she’d had with Lala. According to Katie, they were at different places in their lives. Katie did not believe it would get to a point where they would get on the same page.
What has really bothered Katie about Lala is that the latter seems to have rubbed salt in her wounds. She talked a lot about Lala joking about hooking up with her ex-husband. For someone like Katie who’s admitted to being insecure in the past, she found it unnecessary, be it malicious in nature or not. Even seeing references to that stuff and her joking about it on The Valley did not sit well with Katie.
The bottom line is that nowadays Katie doesn’t think a reconciliation with Lala would be beneficial. She doesn’t think that would lead to anything good.
