A Vanderpump Rules alum shared her coming out story. Dayna Kathan celebrated Pride Month by announcing, via social media, that she was a lesbian. During her time on Pump Rules, Dayna shared that she was bisexual. And now she is opening up about why she decided to make that public announcement.

Dayna, who appeared on Season 8 of the reality hit, exited after one season. Currently, Dayna hosts a podcast with her friend and former VPR co-star, Katie Maloney. During their Disrespectfully podcast, Dayna opened up about her social media post.
“So, if you didn’t hear, your algorithm is not really giving ally, but I came out as a lesbian earlier this month,” Dayna explained. “I have been saying this privately for a while now. We have obviously talked about it extensively,” Dayna told Katie.
She continued, “And I originally came out, we were filming Vanderpump Rules in 2019 during Pride, and even though I came out then, I still wasn’t totally comfortable with it and was still figuring it out….” Then, Dayna explained that she started to use “the term queer openly” when “bisexual just didn’t really work for me.”
The former Pump Rules star stated, “And what I really knew was that I was a lesbian but was scared to say that public facing, and I think there’s a lot of reasons for that. And I didn’t think I would feel differently once it was out there, and I really do, like, in a positive way.” Dayna added that sharing her truth made her “feel so good and secure in my skin.”
In addition, she ended the segment on a positive note. “If you are still not comfortable being yourself outwardly and you want to,” Dayna said, “you’re seen, and it will happen when it’s supposed to.”
