The OG of the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is looking to expand her repertoire when it comes to TV gigs. With the success of Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, Heather Gay has been showing interest in hosting the reunion. This could be a great idea whether she is half joking or entirely serious! Heather has been around the block a few times regarding reality TV. At this rate she could be like an older sister to this new generation of Mormons looking to break out of the mold.

Heather Gay is adamant about hosting Hulu’s reunion

After the show’s dramatic premiere, everyone, including the stars, is calling for a tell-all special. Utah is a small community and only so big when it comes to its Mormon population. Eight episodes of the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives weren’t enough. The drama had a high impact even after the slow burn of Episode 1. Viewers’ adrenaline is at an all-time high, with many wanting to know where the ladies of #MomTok stand today.

It turns out Heather was also a fan who binged the series. The fan account @ratemybravo asked, “Serious question: who gets tasked with hosting their reunion?” As commentators rambled off ideas, Heather took to the comment section, writing, “Please, oh please.” However, Heather did have some competition. Some fans mentioned that Monica Garcia could also be a good contender for the hosting gig. However, the overall consensus was that Heather should be sitting on the couch with cue cards.

Heather Gay understands the Mormon culture

One thing that I love about Heather is her honesty about not wanting to raise her daughters in the Mormon Church. During multiple episodes, Heather praised her daughters for wanting to attend college and be leaders. As a woman who grew up in the rigid environment, I think her personal connection to the Secret Lives of Mormon Wives women would be unparalleled. Fans have gotten a behind-the-scenes look thanks to her 2022 memoir, Bad Mormon.

The book discusses Heather’s life growing up in the Mormon community. More often than not, she found herself wanting to rebel against the church’s teachings. The Hulu series showed each of the young influencers struggling with that same thought. Taylor Frankie Paul admitted she didn’t believe in monogamy and was one of the swingers who was a part of the scandal. During her line of questioning, Heather would be able to really dive into the psychology behind why most Mormon women want to rebel. Without a doubt, Heather would be the host to show empathy and sympathy to the newest Mormon stars.

It might also help Heather’s chances to host a possible reunion due to the fact that the secret Lives of Mormon Wives have their own ties to Bravo. Demi Engemann is Bret Engemann’s third wife. While this isn’t exactly a revelation, what is interesting is that Brett was first married to Angie Harrington. Heather, who is close friends with Angie, might actually know Demi on a personal level. It stands to reason that Heather has met Bret at some point over the years. Angie and Heather even vacationed on Below Deck together.

Angie, who was a ‘friend of’ on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, married Bret when they were both young after meeting at Brigham Young University. Demi also mentioned Angie in one of her confessionals. With Heather being the tie that binds, Demi and the rest of the women could feel more comfortable talking with the Bravo star since they know she is a friendly face.

Heather Gay is a great narrator on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City

The other attribute that Heather holds above others is that she is already a great narrator on the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Good Time Girl Heather has some pretty witty confessionals and leaves no stone unturned. By far, Heather is the most relatable and down-to-earth cast member. The Beauty Lab owner doesn’t hang on to stupid drama, which is very refreshing. She comes across as educated and able to put her issues aside to get down to the nitty-gritty, which is precisely what a reunion host needs to do.

For me, Heather is the only choice for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives reunion host. Along with all the reasons mentioned above, she is self-deprecating and a woman who knows how to mock her trauma. I think she would be a therapist for these younger women who are very much navigating the murky waters of Mormonism. If nothing else, Heather could guide them to calmer shores while giving fans a much-needed update.

Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is currently streaming on Peacock.
