The chemistry between Venita Aspen and JT Thomas was palpable all season. And the cast trip to the Bahamas gave the Southern Charm costars a chance to get cozy. After a disastrous dinner, the fashion influencer went to JT’s hotel room. He advised her not to bring the cameras in. But she shared what went down, or didn’t, during a recent episode of the Southern Charm After Show.
JT did not want to admit anything with cameras in attendance. So the scene in Episode 12 left off with Venita going in and closing the door. Luckily, the Bravolebrity is very transparent. And frankly, their dynamic all season has been confusing. So some context would be nice, especially since JT admitted to having a girlfriend during their Branzino dinner together at Venita’s.
JT Thomas didn’t think Venita Aspen had his “back”
“I go to JT’s room. I knock and I knock and he wouldn’t let me in. He was like, ‘There’s cameras, there’s cameras. I’m not gonna talk to you. There’s cameras, you’re setting me up.’ I’m like, ‘No, I’m not setting you up. There’s no one here. It’s just me.’ And we get in that room and I sit in a chair across from him,” she explained. “I was like, ‘Why the f*ck did you just throw me under the bus like that?”
“Oh, don’t you wish the cameras were there?” Leva Bonaparte interjected.
It seems that JT wanted to discuss what went down at the dinner. At one point, he asked Venita for backup. And she declined to comment.
“He was just like, ‘I didn’t mean it. Like, I didn’t know what to do. You didn’t have my back and blah, blah, blah,'” Venita continued.
But it turns out that the Southern Charm favorite had other things in mind. Unfortunately, JT was focused on the conversation at hand.
“We were going back and forth, and I just look him in his eyes — well, I shouldn’t say look him in his eyes — I walk up and straddle him, then look him in his eyes and I go, ‘Don’t act like you don’t want this sh*t just as bad as I do.’ And I get up and I leave,” she continued.
Venita revealed that she and JT were “bickering” that night
JT seemed to corroborate what Venita stated during a confessional interview during the episode.
“I think I make it pretty clear when I remove her not once but twice off of me in my bed in the Bahamas. Because I have a girlfriend … that’s not easy as a guy to do. You’re down and out, you’re sad, and you have a beautiful girl throwing herself at you. And you’re like, ‘No, please. I can’t.’ Like, I’m trying my best here,” he said.
Back on the After Show, Venita revealed that after she left the room, JT kept texting her to revisit the conflict from the dinner table.
“I’m still trying to find the text messages, but that whole night we were going back and forth all night. We were bickering, and then we were not bickering. And then we were bickering some more, and then we were not bickering,” Venita said.
