Teddi Mellencamp has been an absolute warrior in her battle with cancer. It’s been several years of dealing with melanoma, including the removal of over 17 malignancies from her skin. Unfortunately, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum then had a further setback when tumors were discovered in her brain. Now, Teddi revealed that scans showed another two tumors in her lungs.
Teddi is, as ever, persevering with positivity in the wake of this news. She is leaning on family and friends for support. As well as her own resilience to beat cancer and return to a sense of normalcy.
Doctors found more tumors on Teddi Mellencamp’s brain and lungs
On Thursday, March 6, Teddi posted the shocking update to her social media profile, as well as Instagram Stories.
“I have 3 more tumors in my brain and 2 tumors on my lungs. These are all a direct result of my melanoma,” the RHOBH alum wrote.
“The doctors are hopeful that these additional mutations will be removed via immunotherapy. That begins Tuesday at 11AM,” she continued. “I am feeling positive and excited — that I will beat these tumors.”
Teddi was rocking a chic blonde wig in the picture. She mentioned liking “the short hair, just not the bald spots.”
“Now, as @bravoandy would say: with all due… f*** off, cancer!” she defiantly concluded.
Focus on Teddi’s treatment advanced in seriousness when tumors were discovered in her brain in early February. The RHOBH alum was “dealing with severe and debilitating headaches” over the span of several weeks. After checking herself in at hospital due to “unbearable” pain, “doctors found multiple tumors.”
Several of the larger tumors were surgically removed February 12. Teddi explained that her doctors decided to radiate “the remaining smaller tumors.”
“I am so grateful for the incredible surgeons, doctor, and nurses who made my surgery a success and my recovery process comfortable,” she wrote on February 26 of her situation post-surgery. “This fight is not over, but that round has been won.”
On March 3, Teddi celebrated her return home from the hospital with fans. For now, it’s on to the next battle with family and friends by her side.
