Real Housewives of Atlanta fans are all familiar with NeNe Leakes. And many fans and even some cast members like Drew Sidora think that NeNe is exactly what the show is still missing.
Even after the exciting premiere of the new season of RHOA and the triumphant return of Phaedra Parks. Drew still feels there is a missing factor. And she shared that she believes that missing “voice” belongs to her infamous friend.
Drew Sidora thinks NeNe Leakes brought a “voice” to RHOA
While speaking at the Ultimate Women’s Expo, Drew shared her thoughts about NeNe and how she thinks the show would benefit from having her back. As she reflected on the show’s evolution, Drew emphasized that NeNe remains an iconic figure in the franchise.
Many will remember that NeNe made a dramatic exit from RHOA. At the season 12 virtual reunion things got heated and NeNe just closed her laptop and virtually stormed off. She followed this up with a lawsuit against Bravo for a hostile and racist work environment.
But despite all that, Drew thinks Nene and RHOA are interchangeable. “You know, when you think of Real Housewives of Atlanta you think of NeNe Leakes,” Drew said at her panel. “When you think of NeNe Leakes you think of Real Housewives of Atlanta. I feel like we’re missing that voice.”
And to be fair, NeNe helped shape the identity of the show as one of the original cast members of the franchise. Her bold and witty one-liners were often unforgettable and her presence defined many of the most talked about moments of the show.
Drew, who joined the franchise in the 13th season, acknowledged that NeNe’s absence has left a noticeable void. And she’s not the only one who thinks so. Another former cast member, Marlo Hampton also previously said she wanted NeNe and Phaedra back. Well, one out of two is not bad!
For her part, NeNe has expressed interest in returning to the show, although she pretty much burned bridges with Bravo. Still, at least the door is open on NeNe’s part. “If the opportunity was right and the check was on point, why not?” she said
The Real Housewives of Atlanta continues on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. You can watch on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
