At the beginning of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 16, Porsha Williams and Shamea Morton were boasting about their lifelong friendship. Ten episodes later, their friendship has fallen apart. You might have seen this coming from a mile away, but regardless, the situation is so icky that Shamea cried about it during last night’s episode of Watch What Happens Live.
RHOA’s Shamea Morton got emotional discussing Porsha Williams friendship breakdown on WWHL
We’ve seen the cracks forming in this lifelong friendship for the last few weeks, but during RHOA Season 16 Episode 10, the drama all came to the surface. Shamea has spent all season defending Porsha from every direction, but she doesn’t feel like the energy has been reciprocated.
Of course, Andy Cohen grilled Shamea about the status of their friendship on WWHL. He asked her questions about being perceived as “Porsha’s lapdog” and questioned whether or not they could move forward from this. Shamea was moved to tears after talking about it so much.
“This is what I thought was my real friend for years,” Shamea explained. “It’s not something that you can just get over overnight.”
Shamea explained that Porsha felt like a “sister,” but now that things have gone so far in the other direction, it has her questioning the years she gave to their relationship.
“I treated this friendship like I would have wanted her to treat it,” Shamea told Andy.
If a friendship of over 20 years could fold after ten episodes of television, we’re not sure how strong that friendship was in the first place. It seems like Shamea might be realizing that, too. She told Andy that moving forward, the ball is in Porsha’s court. She’s not going to bend over backward to try to fix this.
“I’m not doing anything more. I’m done,” Shamea said. “At this point, it’s mercy. Grace has already been extended. I want some things to be reciprocated to me.”
