Scheana Shay has had a lot to deal with lately. The mother of one is dealing with the fallout from Vanderpump Rules being rebooted. The singer is also trying to finagle her way onto The Valley. But even with a busy schedule, she is making sure to remind followers what she truly thinks of Lisa Vanderpump. The matriarch of the series has been blasted in recent months for not being a girl’s girl. But Scheana and LVP used to be very close. So, where did it all go wrong?
Scheana Shay and Lisa Vanderpump aren’t on good terms after Scheana’s book tease
Firstly, I don’t think I even realised that Scheana had written a book. Nowadays, it feels like every Bravoleb is penning their own memoir, and hers got lost in the shuffle. However, one person who clearly read it was Lisa because she was as mad as all holy hell with her former server. It didn’t take long for the 64-year-old to accuse the Good as Gold singer of using her name to sell copies of My Good Side: A Memoir. Lisa kept a stiff upper lip as she noted that Scheana was ungrateful for the multitude of opportunities that she had provided for her. During a May 2 Watch What Happens Live episode, Lisa let her opinions run wild. After being asked about the tea Scheana had on her, she replied, “Well, that is probably just to sell the book, because she doesn’t have anything else to say.”
The digs then got personal as Lisa told viewers, “I have heard she said something nasty that I only call her when I need something. True that.” She added, “I have 600 people that work for me. I think the last time I needed her is when I invited her to my house for [my grandson] Teddy’s birthday. So that is the last time I called her.”
Why Lisa Vanderpump doesn’t deserve ALL the Pump Rules credit
Naturally, when Scheana heard the remarks, she was taken aback. The former Vanderpump Rules star took to her Scheananigans podcast to share her side of the story. The mother of one noted, “When I saw the Watch What Happens Live clip. It was a little hurtful. It’s like now I’m just one of 700 employees? I used to be your go-to girl.” Scheana addressed the rumors that she had tea to spill, claiming that wasn’t exactly the case. “I’ve always been very loyal to Lisa. I was her right-hand for a long time, and there were a lot of situations that I’ve been put in, phone calls that were made, and things that just kind of shaped a big part of my life that I do discuss in the book.”
Scheana doubled down, “Is she gonna be happy with everything I say in the book? Probably not. But it’s my truth … [And] I’m not trying to paint anyone in a negative light.” And Scheana is standing up for herself, noting the cast was a big part of why Vanderpump Rules was a hit. She shared, “I started the show from a scandal I was involved in, and people were invested in watching the show for the six of us. No offense to Lisa, but I think very few viewers were tuning in to see Lisa’s life because she’s not sharing a bunch of her life on the show. It was about us.”
Scheana Shay is trying to make her comeback on The Valley, produced by Lisa Vanderpump
Scheana didn’t hold back, adding, “And because of the success, 11 seasons, two Emmy nominations, she’s been able to expand her empire.” I actually don’t think Scheana is wrong for that thought process. The podcaster is looking to make moves to keep herself in the minds of fans. We just saw her make her debut on The Valley during the most recent episode. And with rumors of a possible cast shake-up, there is every chance Scheana will be given a permanent place for Season 3.
Gone are the days when Scheana would have stayed quiet and run along to get the Pinot Grigio order. “We [were] all kicked to the curb and rebooted, so I am going to talk about my experiences because there are a lot of things that people don’t know or people assume. So it’s not necessarily tea I’m spilling about Lisa. It’s tea I’m spilling about myself. This book is my memoir, and she was a huge part of my life for the last 15, 16 years.”
The Valley is available to stream on Peacock and on Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
