After a divisive Season 14, The Real Housewives of New Jersey went on pause. The cast was split into two camps. One group supported Teresa Giudice, while the other backed up Melissa Gorga. These sisters-in-law refused to speak to each other, which made filming really fun and easy. Not! So, amid this strife, Bravo paused the series to figure out how to move forward. Well, now Andy Cohen is giving fans a long-awaited update.
Andy Cohen says RHONJ “is a great franchise” amid cast changes
RHONJ fans were nervous after Bravo announced a new slate of programming and renewals of current shows. However, both Jersey and The Real Housewives of New York were missing from the list. That didn’t seem to bode well for either franchise.
Thankfully, it seems that RHONJ is moving forward. Andy was a guest on The View and shared an update about the future of the series. “We are doing casting on Jersey. It was really on a deep pause, and we are actively there, casting and looking at the future of what that will be,” he stated. Andy added that it is “a great franchise and we love it.”
Of course, there have been rumors circulating about whether the show would get a full reboot like RHONY. Or, be a mix of some returning cast members and new faces. And amid this incredibly long break, some RHONJ cast members were getting antsy. Melissa posted a casting flyer via her Instagram, hoping to speed up the casting process.
And Teresa recently announced that she will be appearing at BravoCon 2025. “So yeah, so I mean obviously, you know, if I’m going to BravoCon, you know what that means,” the OG stated. Since Melissa, Margaret Josephs, and Dolores Catania are also hitting up BravoCon, I don’t think that Teresa is holding the golden ticket. Perhaps someone should let her know.
The Real Housewives of New Jersey is streaming on Peacock and Hayu in the UK and Ireland.
