Season 14 of The Real Housewives of New Jersey was the end of the show as we knew it. The war between sisters-in-law Melissa Gorga and Teresa Giudice made filming nearly impossible. The cast picked a side, and no one would budge. Bravo scuttled the Season 14 reunion because of the divisiveness. Now, as fans wait for casting plans to be announced for RHONJ, alum Kim DePaola is spilling some tea.
Did Melissa Gorga ask Bravo for a younger RHONJ cast?
Amid fears that Jersey was on the chopping block, Andy Cohen announced that casting is moving forward. “We are doing casting on Jersey,” he explained. “It was really on a deep pause, and we are actively there, casting and looking at the future of what that will be.”
When Kim D welcomed RHONJ star Jenn Fessler to her podcast, Get Real with Kim D, of course, they talked all about Jersey. “We all get jealous of each other,” Jenn stated. “Well, you know Melissa called Bravo?” Kim asked. Talk about a smooth transition!
“No, I did not know that. Damn girl! What does that even mean?” Jenn asked. “Melissa called Bravo. She called execs there and she said, ‘Wouldn’t you want someone who’s younger and looks more like them?’” Kim stated. I am taking this with a boatload of salt.
“Get the hell out of here!” Jenn exclaimed. Kim added, “For a fact.” Now, was Jenn confused, or just shocked that Kim would put this rumor out there? “For a fact?” the RHONJ star asked. Kim responded, “I don’t talk sh*t.” Well, given Kim’s track record, I wouldn’t go that far.
Of course, Melissa has tried to involve herself in the casting process. She posted a casting flyer on her Instagram Story, hoping to speed up the process. Plus, Melissa recently celebrated the six-month anniversary of her company, Let’s Sprinkle by MG. The cookie company expanded its offerings to include a coffee cake, too. Somewhere, Teresa is cursing the day that she threw Melissa’s sprinkle cookies in the “garbage.”
