Welcome to The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 19, Episode 5 recap. Last time, Heather’s birthday party led to drama when Tamra arrived with her plus one, Jo De La Rosa. Gretchen and Slade Smiley were not pleased to see his former fiancée. And Tamra hinted to Jenn that she knows about cheating in her past. Here’s what happened in RHOC Season 19 Episode 5: “The Big UnEasy.”
What happened in Real Housewives of Orange County Season 19 Episode 5?
Gina held her housewarming party and planned a trip to New Orleans. Plus, Jenn was floored to discover that Tamra showed photos to Heather of her when she was at a heavier weight. And Tamra grappled with her friend Teddi Mellencamp’s recent surgery. And crazy secrets were revealed in The Big Easy.
Gina throws a housewarming party in The Real Housewives of Orange County
Gina was excited to show off her house. She welcomed the ladies and proudly showed off her home. “I am so happy for Gina and this move upward,” Emily said in her confessional. “She deserves it.”
Then Jenn told the group that she spoke with Tamra, but it didn’t go well. “It started with this whole, ‘I’m obsessed with her. I’m single white female,’” Jenn explained. “Oh, Lordy,” Gretchen muttered. Plus, Tamra believes that Jenn took photos of her to her doctor so she could look more like Tamra.
“Oh, actually, Heather told me Tamra pulled out her phone and she pulled up this, like, former fatty photo of Jen,” Gina said. “How do you cry about this low point you’re in … but you’re still finding time to go dig around and find a fatty photo of me?” Jenn ranted in her confessional. “F*ck your fatty photo.”
As for Tamra, her “social anxiety” was high. As soon as Tamra arrived, the vibe was off. And, finally, Shannon came with the gift of nine soap lemons in a bowl. Classic.
Right now, Tamra is so worried about her bestie and podcast host, Teddi, that she can barely eat. Teddi just came home from the hospital after having brain surgery. Then Tamra revealed that when she and Teddi were in New Orleans for the Super Bowl, Teddi fell down some marble stairs. Poor Teddi.
However, Jenn is all about this fatty photo. Heather confirmed that she saw one photo and said that Tamra was showing how different Jenn looked. “It was more like, you want to be her,” Heather added. It seems that Jenn already knows whose side Heather has taken. “Heather, you’re bamboozled,” Jenn said. “That’s f*cked up.” However, Heather seems unbothered by Jenn’s distress.
Gretchen and Tamra go at it again in RHOC Season 19
Meanwhile, Tamra told Gretchen that Jenn was reaching out to people who “don’t like” her. Such as Gretchen. However, Gretchen felt that Jenn needed “consoling” after Tamra spread the rumor that the FBI had raided Ryan Boyajian.
Then Gretchen added, “It feels like you’re not ever, like, learning your lesson on anything.” However, Tamra accused Gretchen of coming after her “for 12 years.” After calling Tamra “delusional,” Gretchen went outside.
Finally, Gina gave each RHOC lady a black box and ordered them to her backyard. The hostess opened a window and threw multicolored beads to her guests, because she was taking them to The Big Easy! The boxes contained a feathered mask.
However, Tamra was visibly emotional and walked away. She was with Teddi the last time she was in New Orleans. While Gina and Heather comforted her, Gretchen whispered to Shannon that Tamra is “really good at playing victim.” Yikes!
Jenn and Ryan discuss problems with her ex in The Real Housewives of Orange County
Jenn struggles with her body image. She works out with Ryan every day ahead of their wedding, and she still doesn’t feel like she looks good enough. So, Tamra showing the old photo of Jenn is triggering for her. Meanwhile, Ryan is upset that Jenn’s ex-husband, William Pedranti, has not paid any part of her $200,000 lump settlement. And Jenn and her children are not receiving child support or spousal support. Ryan is not thrilled that he has to cough up attorney fees because of this situation. Plus, he wants to sit down with Will and discuss it.
“I’m not scared about marrying Ryan. I am scared about a marriage that doesn’t work,” Jenn said in her confessional.
The RHOC ladies hit The Big Easy
The ladies had to travel in two groups to New Orleans. Gretchen, Gina, Emily, and Katie went on a riverboat while waiting for the rest of the ladies to arrive. However, the group tried to solve the mystery of the name of the river, to no avail. Yes, it was the Mississippi River. Oof.
At their fabulous dinner, Gina opted for the turtle soup, which upset some of the RHOC ladies. I guess Gina is moving outside of her comfort zone. Then, Heather asked how Ryan and Will interact with one another. Jenn answered that they normally don’t, but today was a different story. Ryan walked up to Will when he was dropping off the kids and blasted him for not paying child support. However, Ryan’s remarks will negatively affect Jenn’s relationship with Will, and she will be punished somehow.
Meanwhile, Gina dropped a bomb that Travis’s ex-wife, Meghan Mullen, was reaching out to Gina’s ex-husband and her kids. During the dinner, Heather asked if Shannon would date a short dude, and spilled that Terry wears lifts!
They also discussed sex. Duh. While Heather has never made a sex video, Katie admitted that she had. Shannon quipped, “Of course, Katie has. She records. That’s what she does.” Then Jenn shared that her “vagina doesn’t work” following pelvic floor surgery. TMI. Overall, the ladies had fun.
But cut to 24 hours later, and a storm was blowing into The Big Easy. One that was so messy that Tamra reportedly quit.
