Kandi Burruss’ mom, “Mama Joyce,” has never been the biggest fan of her daughter’s husband (or boyfriends in general), Todd Tucker. The two have a long, complicated history, so naturally, fans were curious about Mama Joyce’s reaction when Kandi announced her divorce in November 2025.
In the February 22 episode of Watch What Happens Live, Andy Cohen asked the RHOA star about Mamma Joyce’s reaction to the divorce. Here’s what you need to know.
Does Mama Joyce feel vindicated amid daughter Kandi Burruss’ divorce?
In Sunday’s episode, Andy asked Kandi if Mama Joyce had a “I told you so” moment after hearing about the split.
Kandi laughed at the comment, telling Andy that Mama Joyce has been surprisingly calm about it.
“She actually has been pretty calm,” she shared. “She’s been trying not to say too much… Sometimes, the internet, you know, conversation with people and their opinions about our divorce can get in her head.”
Kandi added that she and Todd are “doing [their] best to get along” during the divorce process.
“We honestly don’t have a lot that we’re disagreeing about,” she said.
Kandi announced the split in November 2025 in a statement published by People.
“After deep thought and a lot of prayer, I’ve made the decision to move forward with a divorce,” she told the outlet. “This is a difficult and emotional time, but my focus remains on protecting my peace, being the best mother I can be, and co-parenting with love and respect.”
She continued, “I’m stepping into a new chapter pouring into my work, my family, and my own growth. I’m grateful to everyone who supported us throughout the years, and I ask for privacy, grace, and understanding as we navigate this transition with our family.”
