Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker Ordered To Pay Six-Figure Settlement To Former Landlord

Blaze Steak & Seafood continues to be a problem child for Kandi Burruss and Todd Tucker. The estranged husband-and-wife duo opened the restaurant, and it was prominently featured on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Since then, there’s been a ton of drama around the restaurant: shootings, failed health inspections, and more than a few disappointed customers.

These days, the restaurant is non-operational, and it’s been at the center of a massive lawsuit around unpaid rent and repair costs. However, the parties have finally reached a settlement.

Kandi and Toddl’s landlord has been battling them in court for over a year. The landlord initially claimed that the couple owed over $200,000 in back rent and repair costs.

According to court documents reviewed by TMZ, Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group has reached a settlement. They’ve agreed to pay the landlord $140,509.10.

Most of this lawsuit revolved around some repairs that needed to be completed on the restaurant. In addition to over $150,000 in unpaid rent, the landlord said they spent $57,000 on repairs that Kandi and Todd neglected to complete. The lawsuit made it sound like the RHOA alums were just letting the place fall into disarray and leaving their landlord to foot the bill.

In a countersuit, Burruss Tucker Restaurant Group argued that repairs needed on the building weren’t its responsibility. The repairs were much more than just a fresh paint job or a new roof. It was experiencing foundational and plumbing issues, and their lawyers said that those costs should fall back on the property owner, not the tenant.

This newly agreed-upon settlement squashes all of this, so the countersuit has been dismissed, and they’re all moving forward. Meanwhile, there’s no word on whether or not Blaze Steak & Seafood will ever have a second chance at glory. It remains closed.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta returns to Bravo on Sunday, April 5 at 8/7c. You can always stream it on Peacock.
