Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17 Episode 4 Preview: Pinky and Kelli Consider Bankruptcy

It looks like there might be two bankruptcies unfolding on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17. In a sneak peek of next week’s episode, Pinky Cole confides in Kelli Ferrell about her ballooning debt, only to find out that her new friend has been dealing with the exact same thing. If you needed proof that the restaurant business isn’t for the faint of heart, here it is.

Shamea also pauses her pregnancy plans in the upcoming RHOA episode

In RHOA Season 17 Episode 3, the cameras followed Pinky to her lawyer’s office, where she laid out the full scope of her financial crisis. She became the sole guarantor of her Slutty Vegan business, and that has left her on the hook for millions. Couple that with a handful of business-related lawsuits, and you’ve got a full-blown disaster.

In real time, we know that Pinky has already filed for bankruptcy. She just hadn’t made her decision while filming Season 17. In the sneak peek for Episode 4, the RHOA newbie hosted a community giveback day and talked to Kelli about the money problems that were starting to hit the press.

“It’s been rough for me the last couple of days, and I’m thinking about filing for bankruptcy,” Pinky admitted, to which Kelli replied, “Me too.”

It turns out, the two ladies are navigating remarkably similar situations. Just like Pinky, Kelli signed off on a lot of things in her name, and it’s all coming back to bite her in the ass.

“My main goal was to get through my divorce, and I realized that bankruptcy is now a possibility because of all the debts that have occurred throughout my marriage, closing a business,” Kelli explained in her confessional.

She continued, “And they said Abraham Lincoln went through bankruptcy three times. So, at this point, I’m Kelli Lincoln.”

Elsewhere in this sneak peek, Kelli Lincoln’s new bestie, Shamea Morton-Mwangi, opened up about her family’s surrogacy journey. Last season, we saw them taking the final steps to expand their family, but there’s been a significant setback since then.

“Unfortunately, we had to pump the brakes on our last surrogate,” Shamea revealed.

Their surrogate had a failed transfer. Because of that, Shamea and her husband have decided to start fresh with someone new. That also means starting from square one with the legal process. Their family might be getting bigger eventually, but it’s going to be a process before it happens.

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
