It’s time for our weekly deep dive into The Real Housewives of Atlanta—the only show where you can hear about butt shots, miscarriages, and multimillion-dollar lawsuits all in one hour.
Last week, Porsha and Kelli clashed after Porsha threw out accusations about sleeping with married men. Then, K. Michelle’s trip to Nashville took a scary turn when one of her surgery incisions ruptured.
In The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17 Episode 3, “Rum, Ruptures, & Redemption,” we learned that relief could be a long way away for the former Love & Hip Hop alum.
What happened in The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17 Episode 3?

K. Michelle recovered from her emergency surgery, and Porsha’s reaction to the news left a lot to be desired. Turns out the only thing worse than a loose suture is loose lips.
Elsewhere in Atlanta, Shamea made moves to launch a rum line, and Pinky opened up about her looming financial crisis. Plus, Drew and her love interest, Blakk Tatted, went on a date, and he shared some surprising hopes for their future. And Kelli? She was nowhere to be found this week.
Out of the hospital and into the mess
K. Michelle had to undergo a two-hour surgery to remove the infected tissue from a previous procedure. It’s all part of the aftermath of her illegal silicone injections, and unfortunately, there’s no easy way out of this. She’ll never be able to fully remove the illegal silicone, but this was another step towards relief.
The silicone situation is some scary stuff, and K has talked about it in length on her Lifetime series, My Killer Body With K. Michelle. However, her latest setback didn’t stop her from filming RHOA. She quickly jumped back into the mix, but she got sucked into some drama in the process.
She met up with Porsha, Cynthia, and Phaedra for pedicures and was trying to explain to them what happened to her in Nashville. When she mentioned that she was sitting in a puddle, Porsha interjected and asked, “A miscarriage?”
From the delivery to the timing, everything about Porsha’s comment felt off. To make matters worse, K explained in her confessional that Porsha already knew what she was going through with her surgery complications—they actually bonded over it because Porsha navigated something similar with her breasts. Now, there’s a beef brewing between the two, and it only took three episodes.
Misadventures in business

It wouldn’t be a season of Housewives if there wasn’t at least one person trying to start a business. This year, it’s Shamea who is trying to step into her own with a new concept: peach rum. She’s partnered with a rum company in Grenada, and the cameras followed her this week as she met with execs and lawyers to try and make it happen.
Of course, Shamea doesn’t really need the money. We’ve seen that house she lives in, which looks like it’s the size of a Walmart, but Shamea wants something of her own. Angela found herself in a similar boat this week, reinvesting money into her real estate business that had flopped last year.
Meanwhile, Pinky was sharing the downsides of that entrepreneurial spirit. As we’ve all seen in the headlines, she’s navigating a Chapter 11 bankruptcy, but this week, we got more insight into how she got there.
She met with her lawyer and explained that she’s the personal guarantor for her business, which has created a significant headache as the debts piled up into the millions. She also mentioned that she has more lawsuits than she has underwear, and those are burning a hole in her pocket, too.
There’s a $100,000 dispute over illegally airing a boxing match at one of her businesses and a $2 million liquor license fight. Pinky broke down in tears, talking through all of it. Consider it a cautionary tale.
Apparently, she’s caught up in a $100,000 lawsuit over illegally airing a boxing match at one of her businesses. There’s also a $2 million liquor license dispute. It’s a lot, and Pinky broke down in tears talking to her lawyer about the pressure she feels from all of it. Consider it a cautionary tale.
K. Michelle’s social media posts caused a stir
Remember last summer when RHOA was filming, and K. Michelle started firing off tweets about an unnamed “bimbo” who had her feeling “activated?” Now we know exactly who she was talking about. It was Porsha.
Since K didn’t react to the miscarriage comment in real time, she did what we all do and took to social media to cryptically air out her grievances. The rest of the RHOA cast caught wind of the rage tweets, so Cynthia stepped in to get to the bottom of it. That’s when things got interesting.
K met up with Cynthia and Pinky and laid out the full situation. She said she felt annoyed with Porsha for the comment and was also having a hard time reading Phaedra, whose entire presence consists of making faces in the corner and cackling. K isn’t going to cower to the veterans on the show.
With that, Pinky jumped in with some beef of her own. Allegedly, Phaedra has been going around town telling people that Pinky isn’t actually vegan, despite that being the basis of her entire brand. It’s a perfectly strange thing to fight about on Housewives. Then Pinky made it ten times weirder by claiming that Phaedra “eats dead people.”
“I trust no lawyer that don’t practice the law,” K. Michelle said.
Pinky followed up with, “I don’t trust no lawyer that eats dead people.”
So, to recap: we’ve got K and Porsha fighting over the miscarriage comment, a veganism controversy between Pinky and Phaedra, and apparently, Phaedra is supposedly taking on the dead people in her morgue. God bless this perfect show.
Blakk sees Drew as “wife” material

As Drew’s divorce from Ralph continues playing out in the headlines, three years after filing, she took some major steps this week to show us the blossoming relationship between her and Blakk. He’s definitely looking like more than a friend.
When we last saw Blakk, he was sitting in front of his ring light on a three-hour FaceTime call. This week, he emerged from the confines of Drew’s phone and into the real world—no ring light needed!
The two went out for drinks and hookah because, duh, they’re in Atlanta, and he told her exactly how much she means to him. Drew has been playing it off like they’re just friends, but this man is not confused. He bought gifts for her children, for crying out loud.
Blakk told Drew that he sees her as “wife” material, but it’s hard for them to progress when she’s technically still married to Ralph.
Based on the latest headlines about the divorce, they might be getting closer to that finish line than we think. Whether or not Blakk will still be interested at this point? That’s still TBD.
K. Michelle confronted Porsha over the miscarriage comment
Thank goodness the RHOA cast knows how to keep things moving, because by the end of the episode, K.confronted Porsha directly about the miscarriage comment. If this were The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, this storyline would span at least 10 episodes. Not in Atlanta.
Porsha sat down with K., and when asked about the comment, she seemed genuinely caught off guard. She told K. that she didn’t know she was still dealing with symptoms from her surgery.
Porsha also said that because she’s experienced miscarriages herself, that’s immediately where her mind went when K. mentioned sitting in a puddle. She also brought up her work with the March of Dimes, which is an A+ excuse. No notes.
Porsha apologized, K. gave her the benefit of the doubt, and the two agreed to move forward. But Porsha is officially on thin ice. One more comment like that and it’s going to crack.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams the next day on Peacock.
