The Valley’s Lala Kent ‘Unable to Co-Parent’ With Ex Randall Emmett: Details

Season 3 of The Valley shows Lala Kent living her best life as a mom to 5-year-old Ocean and 1-year-old Sosa. On the surface, the Vanderpump Rules alum has it all together in her Sherman Oaks home. But she recently admitted to continuous conflict with ex-fiance, Randall Emmett, who is the father of her elder daughter.

Lala and Randall supposedly started their relationship while he was still married to Ambyr Childers. They got engaged in 2018. The VPR alum called it off in October 2021 after discovering her partner was cheating on her.

Lala Kent appeared on Harry Jowsey’s podcast Boyfriend Material

Lala told Harry Jowsey on his podcast, Boyfriend Material, that she is “unable to co-parent” with Randall due to their “intense” dynamic. Despite the toxicity, the former couple established “parallel parent[ing]” in regards to Ocean.

“It means that you are unable to co-parent,” The Valley star explained. “Co-parenting is kind of like two separate households, but you try to keep consistency in both. Parallel is basically, ‘What you do over there is on you, and what I do over here is on me.’ And there’s no crossover, because you just can’t … It’s high conflict.”

According to a post from Vanderpod Recaps on Instagram, Lala still feels that communication with Randall is “very intense” and tries to keep it to a minimum.

“We don’t speak on the phone. It’s very short and sweet through an app. Well, not always sweet,” she said. “I don’t want to say [I] give in, but I so don’t want to communicate with him in any f*cking way, shape or form. [So] when he sends me messages, I’m just like, ‘Yeah, cool, sounds good.’ I’m desperate to not talk to you.”

Surprisingly, Lala and Ambyr developed a friendship out of all of this. It “was built” from “something very f*cking toxic.” The reality TV star stated, “She was the wife, I was the mistress, she found a sex tape with me and her husband at the time. And that’s how everything was found out and how she decided to file for divorce.”

Catch The Valley Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. It streams on Peacock.
