Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley has a lot going on right now. She’s juggling several ongoing feuds, she’s launching her new book next month, and she’s navigating a very messy divorce. But she’s not letting that burden her.
Instead, she’s speaking her mind, and that includes denying a huge accusation her estranged husband, PK Kemsley, made about her finances amid their divorce drama.
Things have been difficult between Dorit and PK over the last couple of years. Since their split, the couple has struggled with the divorce and figuring out their path forward. While initially, they may have wanted to keep things civil, things have quickly devolved since then.
Did Dorit Kemsley spend $1 million on luxury items?
Things came to a head when their finances came into question. When they first split, Dorit was under the impression that PK would continue handling the finances. Unfortunately, that was not the case.
The pair faced potential foreclosure on their mansion due to unpaid mortgage payments and debts. Dorit said PK was in charge of those payments, while PK accused her of not making any payments on her end.
Dorit sat down with Terri Seymour of ExtraTV and spoke about the book and shared some thoughts on what is going on between her and PK now. She shared that since their separation, he has refused to have any kind of relationship, which makes communication difficult.
“It feels like I have spent the majority of the time trying to nurture a friendship,” Dorit explained. “Any kind of relationship, respectful and peaceful. But he found that difficult.” She sees signs he may be open now, but she’s hesitant to say anything for sure until it actually happens.
There’s still some bad blood between them after all. Terri asked her about the accusation PK made about her spending $1M on luxury items and travel. When asked if it was true, Dorit flat-out said no.
She then explained that it’s all been filed, and there is a legal process she has to follow. But she believes the answers will come out. There are always two sides to the story.
“Do I love fashion? Yes,” Dorit answered. “Do I spend a lot of money on clothes, expensive clothes, designer clothes? Yes. It is my choice. But it’s also my money. Not his money.”
She believes once the divorce is final, they’ll have less say in how they each spend their own money, but it’s a bit of a gray area right now since they are still entwined.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is streaming on Peacock.
