The idea of Summer House stars West Wilson and Kyle Cooke becoming friends again might seem impossible. But stranger things have happened, and according to West, the pair have “made a lot of progress” since sitting down for a long (read: three-hour) chat together.
To recap, West is currently dating Kyle’s estranged wife, Amanda Batula. The pair announced their romance just months ago, shocking their Summer House cast and the show’s fanbase.

Since Scamanda broke, the couple have been spotted together on numerous occasions, and even jetted off to Rome together this week … presumably to hide from the fallout of the three-part Summer House reunion, which started airing on May 26.
Before his and Amanda’s Italian vacay kicked off, however, West found time to chat with Kyle about the state of their friendship. “I’m not gonna say [things are] good,” West began of how the chat went, while speaking on Tuesday’s episode of his and Sophie Cunningham’s Show Me Something podcast. “Like, nothing’s perfect right now.”
“It was obviously awkward and weird to start, but … it was not a gunfight,” he went on. “It was very calm and peaceful. [We were] trying to hear each other and get to a better place.” To that end, the Summer House star said he is “glad” to have spoken with Kyle.
As for whether viewers will ever get to see that chat? It could happen. West revealed the conversation happened in front of cameras, per Kyle’s request. “I really appreciate him doing that,” West admitted. “[It] will probably be better for me because it was a much better environment to talk about everything than the reunion was.”
And, speaking of the reunion, West revealed it didn’t end “great” for him. He said it wasn’t “gentle by any means,” but he didn’t expect it, as it was a chance for his castmates to get “everything out of their system.”
