The troubles surrounding NeNe Leakes’ son are coming to the forefront. The mug shot of Bryson Bryant appears to show an unhappy man, with the 36-year-old wearing a black T-shirt at the time of his booking.
He was arrested on May 1 in Georgia for allegedly failing to pay child support. Bryson also apparently violated his probation in a separate criminal case and failed to appear for the hearing.
His probation violation stems from a 2024 case where he was found with alleged fentanyl. He reportedly told police during questioning that he was his younger brother, Brentt Leakes, leading to an additional charge for giving false information to an officer. Bryson was sentenced to 12 months’ probation for that.

It seems Bryson didn’t adhere to the terms of his probation. In newly filed documents obtained by TMZ, his probation officer claims that he didn’t complete any of those stipulations. That included a complete drug evaluation, 40 hours of community service, while also submitting to random drug testing. Bryson remains behind bars with the court setting his bond at $27,000.
Bryson, who previously made an appearance on The Real Housewives of Atlanta alongside NeNe, has had his share of legal troubles. Page Six reported that during a 2023 interview on the podcast Reality with the King the RHOA star talked about her son’s substance abuse issues. In the interview, she admitted that “he has an addiction.” NeNe said that he’d relapsed a couple of times before.
She has discussed a tough-love approach with Bryson. This was in the hope that he would be able to break out of his bad habits once and for all. Bryson is one of two kids NeNe has, with her youngest, Brentt, the only one she had with her late husband, Gregg.
The reason for Bryson’s latest arrest was revealed earlier this week. It comes in the middle of RHOA, which still has a couple of Season 17 episodes yet to air.
