On last week’s episode of Real Housewives of Atlanta, tough love was in order, as NeNe Leakes decided not to bail her son Bryson Bryant out of jail after he was arrested for stealing razors from Wal-Mart last July.
NeNe is speaking out defending her decision to let Bryson learn from his mistakes. “I believe in Never Making the Same Mistake Twice. With that said, I decided that tough love was better than no love at all. I decided to leave Brice in jail a few extra days to teach him a lesson,” NeNe explained on her Bravo blog.
“Brice didn’t steal because he was in need, he simply stole because he was giving in to peer pressure, seeking attention, looking for something to do, and being silly. Whatever the case may be, I felt a lesson needed to be learned!” I quite agree!
And further defending her decision, NeNe confronted allegations that she was ignoring Brice’s needs! “I know there are parents that would have chosen a different route, as Peter [Thomas] suggested, but I felt this was what my child needed. My goal is always to encourage my son.”
“I’m no different from any other parent; I want the absolute best for my son and always want see him on top! Brice, mommy loves you! We all make mistakes, just don’t carry them forward and you will be fine, my love!”
NeNe also tackles some of the other controversies, and she is just tickled by Kim Zolciak and Sheree Whitfield acting like the best of friends! “Kim saying she’s known Sheree for ten years. LOL! I introduced them at the beginning of all this about five years ago,” NeNe insists.
“Kim saying she and Sheree don’t talk behind each other’s back. Aren’t you the same person that said Sheree writes bad checks and returns the clothes she wears? Didn’t Sheree try pulling off your wig and said things about you dating married men! I could go on and on, but I’ll wait until…”
And NeNe is very amused by the state of Chateau Sheree aka a big ol’ hole in the ground with some overgrown bushes! “I was laughing out loud when Phaedra [Parks] said there’s not a trespassing sign out and the house won’t be ready by Christmas! You’ve got to love it!”
Moving on, Kandi Burruss is calling Sheree out as an instigator. “I’m sick of this whole black baby drama,” Kandi snaps, adding that her opinion hasn’t changed. She still doesn’t believe Kim would have gone on the trip. “It doesn’t matter if the orphanage was in Africa or Asia, I just don’t see it and I really don’t see what the big deal was about what I said.”
Kandi is still confused about why Sheree is twisting what happened and making the situation into something it’s not. “I don’t know why Sheree made it into this race issue. Sitting there going back and forth with them at the lunch was frustrating and pointless to me,” Kandi writes in her Bravo blog.
“Sheree was sticking with her story about the black baby comment, and she already had Kim sucked into it. They didn’t get nor did they want to understand my point of view. Of course Kim is going to say she would’ve gone. No one wants to look bad or come off as insensitive.”
One thing that Kandi is really furious about is Kim’s comments about her daughter Riley! “I was not feeling the scene where Kim was talking to her landlord/interior designer about her keeping Riley when A.J passed. I mean my daughter has spent the night at her house plenty times. Was there any reason she had to go on about that occasion?,” Kandi wonders.
“Seriously, don’t even bring my daughter’s name up when you’re trying to make a point about a negative subject. I will let your ass have it in the worst way. Y’all haven’t seen that side of me, and hopefully you never will, but putting my daughter’s name out there will definitely bring it out!” Um… whoa. Yeah, I think it’s time for Kandi to leave this show. She is too good for this drama and unlike most of these women has a legitimate and lucrative career!
Finally, Marlo Hampton recently celebrated her birthday with an elegant and sophisticated (just like Sheree!) dinner party. The woman who is anything but elegant and sophisticated, apparently patched things up with Sheree’s bestie Lawrence Washington after the gay slur she made in South Africa. According to The Young, Black, and Fabulous blog, Marlo spent her actual birthday in Europe, but her ATL birthday party was thrown by her good friend and interior decorator, Michel Boyd, in his home.
And despite her close friendship with NeNe, she did not appear to be in attendance. Photos of Marlo’s birthday bash are below. I must say, I love her pants!
