Piers Morgan has wasted no time reacting to Prince Harry’s courtroom loss. The broadcaster responded sarcastically after the Duke of Sussex’s privacy case against British newspaper publisher Associated Newspapers ended in defeat.
The broadcaster mocks the Duke of Sussex’s legal losses, calling his return to the United Kingdom a humiliation
Piers Morgan took another swipe at Prince Harry after the Duke of Sussex lost his privacy lawsuit against Associated Newspapers, the publisher of the Daily Mail. Morgan reacted on X with a sarcastic message about Harry’s potential legal costs.
“Devastated about Prince Harry’s £50m High Court defeat to the Daily Mail,” Morgan wrote, “I do hope it doesn’t bankrupt him.”
Morgan went further in a response to the Daily Mail’s post. He celebrated the ruling as a victory for the newspaper and a loss for Harry and the other claimants. Morgan also claimed they use the media when it suits them and mocked Harry’s return, saying he came home in time to be “humiliated.”
The Prince Harry court case involved six other claimants, including Elton John, David Furnish, Elizabeth Hurley, Sadie Frost, Doreen Lawrence, and Simon Hughes. They accused Associated Newspapers of using unlawful methods to obtain private information.
However, Justice Matthew Nicklin dismissed the claims. The Associated Press stated that the judge found insufficient evidence to prove the publisher had obtained the information unlawfully. The ruling could leave the claimants responsible for legal costs.
Harry and Lawrence criticized the outcome in a joint statement. They called the ruling a “complete and obvious whitewash” and argued that the court failed to hold the publisher accountable.
The Prince Harry privacy lawsuit adds another chapter to his long-running legal battles with the British press. Harry previously secured a judgment against Mirror Group Newspapers and later reached a settlement with News Group Newspapers.
Morgan has repeatedly criticized Harry and Meghan Markle. Reality Tea previously noted that he referred to the Sussexes as “grifters” while reacting to claims surrounding their Netflix partnership.
This time, Morgan focused on Harry’s latest legal setback and the timing of his return to the United Kingdom. His posts added another chapter to their long-running public feud, which continues to attract attention.
