According to The Mirror UK, Prince Harry looks forward to another reunion with his father, King Charles, this time publicly at the Invictus Games in Birmingham next year. It is learned that the organizers may invite the monarch to attend the event while also involving him in watching the events or meeting the competitors.
The report states that if Charles accepts the invitation, he could be joined by his younger son in major events or during opening or closing ceremonies. If this happens, it would also be the first time since 2022, when the duo would be spotted together publicly.
Previously, Harry attended Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in the UK alongside Charles. After that, he did return for his father’s coronation in May 2023 but left for California after the ceremony itself. While this public reunion couldn’t have been a big deal in the past, it is now amid the royal drama and strained relationships between the family and the Sussexes.
The latest update comes a few weeks after Charles and Queen Camilla’s reunion with Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children at Highgrove House in Gloucestershire, England. The meeting was private, with no details or photos made public. A source recently told Us Weekly that the monarch agreed to the reunion only with the Sussexes on the condition that his grandchildren, Archie and Lilibet, remain present. “Certain topics were off limits. They [all] agreed beforehand that they would not discuss any topics making headlines in the press,” the source added.
