Tiffany Haddish has resolved her long-running Georgia DUI case without serving additional jail time. The comedian accepted a plea deal during a virtual court hearing, bringing an end to a legal battle that stretched on for more than four years.

According to TMZ, Haddish pleaded guilty to DUI driving less safely as part of a negotiated plea agreement. The plea allowed her to avoid a trial and any additional time behind bars. Instead, the actress received 12 months of probation. She must periodically check in by phone, although probation officials will review that requirement after six months.
She must complete a DUI course and 40 hours of community service. Additionally, she must abstain from drugs and alcohol and submit to random testing. Authorities also suspended her Georgia driving privileges.
The case dates back to January 2022, when police arrested Haddish after she allegedly fell asleep behind the wheel in Fayette County, Georgia. Since then, the proceedings have faced multiple delays before finally resolving.
Earlier this year, Haddish’s legal team asked the court to dismiss the case. They argued that repeated delays had negatively affected both her career and personal life. However, the judge rejected that request, allowing the case to move forward.
The Georgia case unfolded alongside another DUI-related legal matter. In 2023, Haddish was arrested in Beverly Hills on suspicion of driving under the influence. She later pleaded no contest to a reckless driving charge, avoiding a DUI conviction in that case.
With the Georgia plea now finalized, Haddish has resolved the last remaining legal issue connected to her 2022 arrest. She will spend the next year complying with the conditions of her probation rather than serving jail time.
TMZ reported that Haddish appeared virtually for Tuesday’s hearing and entered the guilty plea without proceeding to trial. The outlet also noted that her representatives had not responded to requests for comment following the court appearance.
The outcome closes one of the comedian’s longest-running legal battles. While the plea spares Haddish from returning to jail, she must still meet several court-ordered requirements before completing her probation.
