The Valley Season 3 is almost over, but seemingly, the drama surrounding Janet Caperna is not. She’s been on the receiving end of criticism from her co-stars — particularly Kristen Doute and Nia Booko — for quite some time. But while the backlash started over claims that Janet made against Danny Booko, viewers on social media think something else entirely is now at play.
According to some fans of The Valley, Kristen and Nia’s strong dislike towards Janet is more to do with the happy marriage she has with Jason Caperna. But is that surprising?
Season 3 has laid brutally bare the struggles currently facing Kristen and Nia in their own relationships.

“The reason that Kristen and Nia hate Janet on The Valley is because they have creepy, weird, terrible husbands, partners, fiancé’s, whatever, and Janet has a wonderful husband,” one TikToker said. “You cannot convince me otherwise.”
“And she’s having an easier transition into motherhood as a result,” another viewer added in the comment section. “She has a true partner who loves and supports her. The other girls can’t fathom,” someone else agreed.
According to these viewers, Kristen and Nia’s hostility towards Janet could be resentment over what she has that they don’t. And it’s not difficult to see how they’ve come to this conclusion. For example, when Jason injured his leg early on in Season 3, he expressed sadness over not being able to take care of his son. On the flip side, after undergoing a vasectomy, Danny complained that he would have to take care of his children.
Beyond that, Jason has continued to emerge as the calm, caring counterpoint to Kristen and Nia’s partners. Both Luke Broderick and Danny have come under heavy fire from viewers over their questionable behavior. This has ranged from the failure to enthusiastically support their other halves during pregnancy and postpartum to downright nasty comments. Oh, and this is before we even mention “dark side” Danny.
Given all that — which is, as Lala Kent pointed out at the reunion, just what viewers see on screen, and therefore only a glimpse of what’s really happening on a daily basis — could watching Janet enjoy a relationship with a man who willingly shows up for her be hitting a nerve for Kristen and Nia? After all, Jason’s green flags are making other people’s red ones all the more glaringly obvious.
