When Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Kandi Burruss filed for divorce from Todd Tucker, fans were stunned. The couple, who have been married for 11 years, showcased their romantic and business partnerships on RHOA. I thought they would go the distance.
However, there were hints that all was not well between Kandi and Todd. Not only was Todd absent from BravoCon, but so was Kandi’s wedding ring. That was a huge clue. Plus, Kandi’s Instagram page listed her as “Kandi Burruss,” not “Kandi Burruss-Tucker.”
Now, Kandi is opening up about what led to her split from Todd, and what her future looks like.
Kandi Burruss is “up and down” amid her divorce from husband Todd Tucker

Kandi spilled some tea during a recent Amazon Live. “I’m gonna be very honest with you – I am up and down. Obviously, going through a divorce is definitely not the easiest thing,” Kandi explained. “Sometimes you’re cool, you’re moving, you’re mixing, you’re moving, you’re hanging out with friends.”
She added, “But then sometimes you have your moments of sadness. And me being the Taurus that I am, I like to keep those moments to myself.”
“This is something that has been brewing for a while. So all the times you’ve been seeing me online [all smiles] means nothing. I’ve been going through it, child. I’ve been going through it. Life has been life-ing me,” the singer stated.
“Sometimes things don’t work out. It just is what it is,” Kandi said, noting that their kids are “doing well.” Plus, both Todd and Kandi agree that their children come first.
“We are having Thanksgiving [together] this week,” Kandi explained. “We both were at [Blaze’s recent] birthday party … to support our baby girl, and we are gonna continue to keep that same good energy going for our kids.”
The iconic former peach added, “That is our goal.”
The Real Housewives of Atlanta is streaming on Peacock. The show streams on Hayu in Canada, the UK and Ireland.
