Actor Kal Penn Calls Out Below Deck Med Star’s Tears on WWHL

On Below Deck Mediterranean Season 10, lead deckhand Joe Bradley has made a mess of his love life. First he romanced stew Victoria SanJuan. But while V was away from the boat sick, Joe couldn’t resist hooking up with V’s co-worker Kizzi Kitchener.

Added to the fact that V’s birthday was the first anniversary of her boyfriend’s drowning death, Joe felt like a heel. As he should! Not only was V sick and grieving, but she left the boat thinking that Joe would be waiting for her when she returned.

But were those tears of remorse over hurting V real, or was Joe just being dramatic? Watch What Happens Live guest Kal Penn has some doubts.

Kal Penn said on WWHL that he “believed” Joe Bradley’s emotions “at first”

On January 12, WWHL host Andy Cohen asked Kal, “Did you have hope that Joe was going to do right by V? Or did you think, ‘Once an F-boy, always an F-boy?'”

“When he cried,” the actor said, “I was [initially] convinced. But then I felt foolish when it turned out that he was actually … crying ’cause he got caught by a camera … But I believed him at first.”

However, perhaps Joe is just an emotional person. He’s not perfect by any means, but he seems to feel things very deeply. In fact, he’s admitted that there was a time in his life when he was so depressed, he came “this close” to taking his own life.

Meanwhile, fellow guest and BDM Season 10 chef Josh Bingham had a different take on the situation. “I think he just felt genuinely bad,” Josh explained, “I think he was feeling bad about his own self.”

“For 20 minutes?” the former White House staff member questioned.

“For 20 minutes,” Josh laughingly agreed.

Below Deck Mediterranean airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo, streaming the following day on Peacock.
