If Erin Lichy made a poorly received joke, it wouldn’t be the first time. The Real Housewives of New York star has misread the room before and now it’s happened again. Recall, if you will, her involvement in the pregnancy prank with Rebecca Minkoff. Recently, Erin’s social media activity had her followers questioning her judgement.
Erin is a fashionista, an entrepreneur, and a reality TV star. But when it comes to giving relationship advice, it seems like she may have missed the mark.
The Real Housewives of New York star has been branded “irresponsible”
A follower on Instagram asked Erin for advice in the situation where a couple are in disagreement about when to expand their family. She replied via Stories, “This is prob not PC but just ‘forget’ to take your pill. Oopsie!”
She continued, “Ok I mean if it’s a serious reason like he has to move for work of he has a health issue idk then fine but if he’s just stalling just have sexy time and make it happen lol. Humans been doing it for centuries.” Good lord.
The screenshot of her response was posted on Reddit. The topic exploded.
“PSA you do not need to answer all of your ask me anything posts like girl why expose your crazy like that,” one comment read. A second wrote, “She sounds so unintelligent.”
One fan referred to Erin’s previous marital issues. The reality TV star revealed that Abe had sold their Bitcoin without her knowledge, and that caused tremendous feelings of betrayal within the marriage. The comment suggested that Erin’s advice to skip birth control was comparable.
“Like if a man pokes a hole in a condom to get your pregnant without your consent. Or when your husband took money without your consent and you ripped him a new one? Can we stop using the term PC towards things that are actually outside moral guidelines?” the fan questioned.
Rather than acknowledging the backlash, Erin doubled down. She addressed the situation in a further Instagram Story. One can’t help but wonder whether Erin really should be back for another RHONY season.
“Guys, you need to lighten up. Like, a lot of you. Not all of you,” the Bravolebrity griped. Yikes.
