Summer House viewers are definitely emotionally invested in Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard’s friendship. It’s taken a while to rebuild from ground zero after Carl called off their wedding in August 2023. But the two have had some warm moments and consider themselves friends these days.
Just this season, Carl showed up to Lindsay’s housewarming party. He brought a gift for her daughter, Gemma, who the former publicist welcomed in December 2024 with ex-boyfriend Turner Kufe. In turn, Lindsay came to support her ex at the opening of his Soft Bar. It was an opportunity for the duo to reflect on emotions past. And cameras caught the moment for Summer House Season 10, Episode 13.
In a vulnerable moment Carl says about Lindsay, “I miss her…”
In the scene, Carl opened a gift that Lindsay brought. It turns out, the gift was a reference to one of their past fights. Now, he has a teddy bear if he needs a tender embrace.
“I know how you love everything soft, so if you need a little hug,” Lindsay teased.
Producers included a flashback from Season 8 in which Carl asked Lindsay for a hug. The duo went from not speaking, to small breakthroughs. Among other things, Lindsay finally “unblocked” Carl after their collaboration with Uber on April 4.
“I miss her, 100 percent. I do. And I miss the friendship that I’ve had with Lindsay,” Carl said in a confessional interview during the April 28 episode. “This little moment of the teddy bear, even if it’s a little backhanded or silly or whatever she’s going for here, it means a lot to me.”
Meanwhile, Lindsay praised her ex-fiancé for his accomplishments. Summer House viewers will recall Carl’s professional struggles while they were a couple.
“I mean, it took two years after our breakup, but here we are,” she said in confessional. “He is actually doing something that deserves my attention. I would prefer my juices to have alcohol in them at this moment in time, but I’m going to go support him and his $25 fruit drinks.”
While in the thick of it, Carl resented Lindsay’s hustle and the supposed pressure she put on him. But now he can say “thank you.” He told producers, “Thank you, Lindsay. I appreciate you coming. Your feedback, believe it or not, is why we’re standing here right now.”
