Welcome to the recap for Summer House Season 10, Episode 14. Last week, Carl had a successful Soft Bar soft launch, bringing together old and new cast members to celebrate. However, Kyle was upset that Carl didn’t add non-alc Loverboy to the menu. For her part, Lindsay played nice with Carl but went toe-to-toe with his mom, Sharon, instead. And finally, Amanda was disturbed when she found out from Jesse that West was going on a “double date” with Ciara. Here’s exactly what went down in Summer House Season 10, Episode 14: “The Turntables Have Turned.”
What happened in Summer House Season 10, Episode 14?
The last weekend of the summer ended with a bang. Ciara brought water guns and hit everyone with her best shot, keeping things fun and light. But the vibe turned when Kyle found out Amanda had discussed temporarily separating from him without his knowledge. Then, during “The Lost Supper,” Lindsay grilled Kyle about not including Amanda in his decision to be a DJ. Kyle crashed out, swore at Amanda, then ran outside and got into a brawl with Carl. Whatever happened to “summer should be fun?”
Jesse gives back at Sunrise Day Camp
It’s been a pretty tough season so far, so it was nice to kickstart the episode on a positive note. Jesse took the crew to Sunrise Day Camp, where kids with cancer and their siblings get to have fun free of charge. As a cancer survivor, Jesse felt the need to give back, and this was a perfect fit for him.
In his confessional, Jesse shared he had thought he needed a relationship because he was lonely but realized he needed to work on himself first. He stated that volunteering was a wonderful reminder to be grateful for everything that you have. Jesse really has become the voice of reason in his confessionals!
While Jesse made friendship bracelets, Ciara was digging her renewed friendship with West. However, she hinted she might want more than just a platonic vibe from him. Oh naur…
Back in the city, Bailey had the anniversary party for her show “it girl.” Her bestie, Levi, teared up as she was so proud of her. We need more Levi and Bailey next season!
Amanda and Lindsay also swung by. The two then caught up on all the tea from Carl’s soft launch. Unsurprisingly, Lindsay went into her feels about Sharon talking sh*t about her on TV.
Lindsay was also still peeved that Carl had yet to have a conversation with her about what happened. Amanda noted that Carl “has a hard time confronting things head on.” Lindsay responded, “I’m just tired of being treated like I’m always the villain cause they’re always the victim. And I can’t handle it anymore.”
Ciara brought the fun and games
Ciara loves a good costume. And this time she chose to dress up as The Lorax while she ambushed the group one by one with a water gun. As each person arrived at the house, they then grabbed a water gun to join in on the fun. Except for Amanda, who shot people down with her Debbie Downer attitude instead.
After everyone was thoroughly soaked, Carl said they were all going to the beach. Lindsay chimed in that later she would be hosting a dinner. She joked it was the two-year anniversary of their breakup and that meant it was freedom dinner round two!
The boys’ summer continued as they all shaved their faces to have matching mustaches. And KJ was thrilled. He had never felt like one of the lads and shared that camaraderie was much needed. Also lucky for him, Dara didn’t seem to mind his new look.
On the car ride up to the beach, Ben said it was nice to see Amanda in good spirits. West laughed and said, “Is she? She walked in the house complaining.” That’s when Ciara broke the news she had suggested to Amanda to separate from Kyle for a month.
Lindsay didn’t disagree with Ciara. But she reasoned if it were another random couple doing this, it would come off like a “last ditch effort move.” In her confessional, Lindsay felt torn between Amanda and Kyle.
She noted Amanda deserved more, but Kyle had feelings too. Lindsay was ready to go into “mama bear mode” and fix the situation. But everyone seemed to know deep down it was already too late.
Amanda laid it on thick about Ciara
At the beach, Jesse caught up with Ben. He had hoped they were going to be single bros during the summer, but things took a 180 because of Sabrina. Still, he told Ben if he was going to lose him, he was happy it was to her.
Ben shared things were going great between them. He was hoping to drop the “I love you” bomb at the same time he asked her to be his girlfriend. Weren’t they already boyfriend and girlfriend?
Meanwhile, Amanda got intel from Mia about Ciara and West getting drinks after Soft Bar. Amanda scoffed, “The last thing I would ever do is just like invite Ciara and West out on an intimate date. They just became friends.”
Then Amanda really tried to sell how hard she rode for Ciara. She explained she would be “the happiest person” if Ciara and West got back together. But she was “skeptical and weary of him.” Amanda added she would “die” for Ciara. However, the only thing that died was their friendship.
Kyle also had a tense conversation. Ciara told him she chatted to Amanda about taking a break from him, and Amanda was down for it. This left Kyle shocked because Amanda never told him about it.
In his confessional, Kyle shared, “The fact that there’s separation conversations happening within our friend group, unbeknownst to me, while we’re trying to put our best foot forward in therapy, is disheartening … Now this feels like there’s an elephant in the room, and I’m second-guessing what we’re doing.”
Kyle told Ciara the idea of separating was “scary.” He added, “I just don’t know what she actually does want if I’m being honest.”
Lindsay’s “Lost Supper” goes left
It was time for Lindsay’s dinner, and she called in Chef Frank to cook for them. Was it just me, or did they seem to have major chemistry? And speaking of chemistry, Bailey and Carl got flirty as he complimented her on her outfit at dinner.
After everyone sat down, Lindsay explained the theme was “The Lost Supper.” Everyone had to share what they lost and then found. She quipped, “Carl lost me, but then found a bunch of thirsty girls in his DMs.”
When it got to Bailey, she admitted she was happy to flirt and makeout again. This prompted the group to chant at her and Carl to kiss. And finally … they did!
KJ shared how he lost his brother but then found friendship with this group. Ciara and West also talked about their friendship. But things blew up once it got to Kyle.
Lindsay laid into Kyle about not including Amanda in any decisions regarding his DJ career. She added that he thought being a DJ was more important than having a family.
That’s when Kyle got heated. He said Amanda wasn’t ready to have a family. While Ben tried to defuse the situation, Kyle told Amanda, “F*ck you.” He yelled, “We don’t have a partnership … she doesn’t pull any weight. I’m f*cking losing my mind!”
Kyle crashed out and ran out the door with Carl behind him. He then threw a can of Loverboy at Carl as we cut to Carl being held back from fighting him. To be continued …
