Welcome back, Below Deck Mediterranean fans! Last week, a frustrating charter guest left Nathan facing a dilemma. Does he pop off on Josef and potentially lose his job, or does he play it cool and not let this man get under his skin? Elsewhere, our first love triangle formed between Luke, Joy, and Gen, and Gen failed to grab the second stew position, which she is still mad about this week on Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 4.
What happened in Below Deck Mediterranean Season 11 Episode 4?
Following a semi-frustrating charter, the crew receives their most shocking tip to date. Meanwhile, Nathan finally picks his lead deckhand, while Luke has also made up his mind regarding Gen and Joy. Or, has he?
Nathan defuses Josef
Nathan smartly takes the high road, even when Josef switches gears, asking the bosun to battle him in an arm wrestling contest. Wildly, Josef respects that. Then, he asks Nathan for another margarita. Gen brings his margarita to the wheelhouse, where Nathan is held captive for several more hours, listening to Josef tell several stories, including one where “six girls peed” on him at the same time.
Cooper rescues Nathan around 2:25 a.m. Josef stays, though. He talks to Cooper for another 30 minutes before finally heading off to bed. But before Gen does the same, she leaves yet another flirty sticky note for Luke to find in the morning.
Sadly for her, Luke finds Joy first. He really likes her. And now, Josef really likes Nathan. He tells Captain Sandy as much, and in her confessional, she applauds Nathan for his growth.
That said, Nathan is still on the fence about who his lead deckhand should be. But he is sure that Luke and Joy will have fun on their excursion to an oyster farm. Just kidding, Aesha is sending Gen on this trip, too. WHAT COULD GO WRONG?
Kayley impresses everyone but Gen
Once the guests set off for their excursion, the interior team gets to work. Their guests requested a blacked-out dinner, followed by an escape room activity, which Kayley already mapped out. Looks like Aesha made a solid second stew choice.
While heading to their excursion, Josef falls asleep, and Luke spots a ring on Joy’s right ring finger. Her ex-fiancé gave it to her, she says, but Luke finds that “strange.” Her ex helped her realize she wanted to be a chef, Joy tells the camera, so she owes him. She has since cut him off, though, because he cheated on her.
On the beach, Joy helps a local chef prepare oysters. But when Gen and Luke start chatting, she wonders if Luke might be playing them both. In his talking head, Luke confirms her fears. Also, this whole ring thing is messing with his head.
Back onboard, Josef falls asleep, and Kayley and Joe flirt. Then, the lights go off. Dinner service begins. Using night vision goggles, Aesha serves the guests as well as can be expected, and everyone enjoys her efforts.
After dinner, Kat gets to live her best Rory Gilmore life, tied up near her crush, Connor, for the escape room activity. In her fantasy, Cooper is Dean. It’s official, these two are adorable.
The guests have 30 minutes to find the crew. They manage to rescue everyone but Joe in time, so a fake bomb detonates, blowing Joe up on a raft out in the sea. Aesha praises Kayley for putting together such a fun activity. But Gen doesn’t “really give a f*ck, bro,” that this night went as well as it did.
Things are heating up on Below Deck Med Season 11
Nathan and Joe had a great episode together. So, Nathan finally makes Joe his lead deckhand. Together, they dock the yacht for their drop-off day.
Josef hysterically takes a picture of Nathan before his group walks away, leaving a MASSIVE $50,018 tip in their wake. $15,000 of this tip came from Josef himself, since he knows he gave this crew hell. Do we… like Josef now?
The crew boards a water taxi, eager to let loose. Luke sits next to Joy. But when Gen gives him grief, he moves to her side instead.
At dinner, Joy tells Luke that she is over her ex. She would like to “discover” Luke now, she says. But Luke might “need to taste the grass” first, she adds, which leaves Luke pretty confused. At the club, Luke and Joy take a breather outside, which Gen quickly interrupts.
Joy walks away. Luke fails to call her back, so, in her mind, Luke has made his decision. Gen cries, telling Luke she feels like a second choice kinda girl. Luke feels awful now and promises to cuddle Gen back on the yacht.
They (loudly) end up doing much more than cuddling, though. “Do not tell a soul about this,” Luke tells Gen, right after she says she is going to “put it in.”
Kat and Cooper are cute, though. They make plans to go on a date. Then, Cooper puts on his retainers, and they fall asleep outside.
