RHOA’s Shamea Morton Makes Her Apologies on WWHL: ‘Not the Appropriate Time’

Say what you want about Shamea Morton Mwangi, but the woman isn’t afraid to issue an apology for her chaotic on-screen behavior. During the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, she apologized to the group for derailing their Scottish vacation with below-the-belt accusations about Porsha Williams’ mom, and she took the apology tour even further on Watch What Happens Live. Whether it’s enough to get her back in the good graces of her castmates? That’s still up in the air.

Shamea stopped by Watch What Happens Live on Sunday, July 19, and Andy Cohen had her address the outrageous comments she and Porsha made about each other during their cast trip to Scotland.

As a reminder, Shamea accused Porsha’s mom of trying to sleep with her father. Porsha clapped back and claimed that Shamea’s mom slept with her husband’s brother. It all happened at a dinner table, and the conversation left everyone’s jaws on the floor. In hindsight, Shamea knows her timing was off, even though her frustration with Porsha had been building for months.

“The timing wasn’t good. I definitely shouldn’t have brought it up at the dinner,” Shamea admitted. “It just came out. I was so fed up. It was festering for so long.”

She continued, “The dinner was not the appropriate time to do it. That’s why I apologized to the ladies for the timing of it all and for making them feel uncomfortable.”

Of course, Shamea also expressed regret for dragging their mothers into it. Neither of them signed up to be RHOA storylines, especially not ones involving alleged sexual proclivities. She said her mom felt “absolutely hurt” by what’s unfolded, and it’s safe to assume Porsha’s mom feels the same way.

Although Shamea seems to be taking the high road now, she has yet to apologize directly to Porsha, who is still antagonizing her former bestie online. Last week, Porsha took to social media and accused Shamea of sleeping with her pastor and her manager. That comes on the heels of Angela Oakley accusing Shamea of screwing around with her neighbor, the Atlanta Hawks, and the Atlanta Falcons. We’re not sure how she would find the time for all of that.

Regardless, Shamea says she’s ready to move on, and it sounds like the reunion, which was filmed late last month, is where things will finally come to a head.

“The drama is still happening on social,” Shamea said. “I agreed to move on from it at reunion, and that’s what I’m planning on doing.”

The Real Housewives of Atlanta airs on Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo. You can stream it the next day on Peacock.
