Teddi Mellencamp Calls Out Luke Broderick’s Comments on Kristen Doute: ‘Not a Great Sign’

Pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood are hard. Luke Broderick and Kristen Doute are discovering just how hard on this season of The Valley. The couple is struggling, and everyone can see it. Teddi Mellencamp had some choice words to say about Luke’s recent behavior on her podcast. In her mind, it’s kind of giving red flags. Her co-host, however, had a differing opinion.

For Teddi, Luke’s recent behavior after the birth of the couple’s daughter Kaia is not looking good.

“I also think it’s not a great sign that he’s like, ‘I didn’t realize that pregnant Kristen was going to be so different,” Teddi said on Two T’s in a Pod. Tamra Judge, however, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, thinks that Kristen’s behavior may be what’s causing Luke to react.

“But then he doesn’t know if he wants to marry her,” Tamra said. “She’s screaming at him non-stop, dismissing him as a father, saying he wasn’t a great dad. And then someone said something about the wedding, and he said, ‘As of right now, I don’t know that I want to get married.’ I wouldn’t either. I wouldn’t either,” Tamra finished adamantly.

“But just keep that to yourself,” Teddi said. “You have a wife struggling with mental illness.”

Tamra kept going and added, “He’s feeling not loved, not cared for.”

“But he’s also kinda being selfish,” Teddi explained. “Which is a lot of men when women get pregnant. Like he’s like, ‘I’m not allowed to just go do whatever I want whenever I feel like it.’ And his mullet isn’t helping.”

Two different sides of the story and two different opinions. Kristen and Luke are trying couples therapy, and that may help them navigate the challenges of postpartum. Right now on the show, though, it’s clear that both of them are struggling.

The Valley airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo. Episodes will stream on Peacock.
