Just three weeks after telling fans that his relationship with Olandria Carthen was over, Nic Vansteenberghe is suddenly being very careful about what he says about their love life.
The 25-year-old Love Island USA star, who finished the show’s seventh season as the runner-up with Carthen, reunited with his ex at Jordyn Woods and Karl-Anthony Towns’ wedding on Aug. 15. And now, he is refusing to say whether that reunion was simply friendly or something more.

Nicolas Vansteenberghe was asked about his relationship status while visiting LIV Beach at the Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Aug. 16. Instead of giving fans the answer they were probably hoping for, he decided to keep them guessing. In footage shot by @jpasc24, Nic is seen teasingly saying, “I would love to tell you guys, but I’m going to keep that private for now.”
Vansteenberghe did confirm that he and Carthen had a great time at the wedding, saying, “We did enjoy ourselves tremendously at Karl and Jordyn’s wedding last night. It was amazing.”
The former couple broke up last month after being together for more than a year. But judging by Vansteenberghe’s latest comments, the breakup has not exactly turned into a messy ex situation.
In fact, he believes exes can “absolutely” stay friends as long as the relationship ends the right way. “If you end healthily, it’s cool,” he explained. “Sometimes it’s better to maybe not be friends, but in my case, yes. We ended on a good note.”
As for whether he’s happily enjoying single life — not so fast. Vansteenberghe admitted, ‘It’s a bit soon, “It’s a bit soon.”
That makes his latest reunion with Carthen all the more interesting.
The reality star confirmed their split on July 26 in a subscribers-only TikTok after breakup rumors began circulating. He wrote, “The rumors are true.”
He also mentioned, “I didn’t want to give people false hope, so I want to clear the air. We will continue to love each other ALWAYS.”
