Madison LeCroy Southern Charm

Madison LeCroy Shades Southern Charm Newbie Olivia Flowers As “Homely”

She’s putting the comeback in “comeback kid.” Madison LeCroy may have left the Season 7 reunion disgraced after her communication with Alex Rodriguez while he was engaged to Jennifer Lopez.  But she’s back and in fine form. Side note, Madison has indirectly been credited with the reunification of the beloved “Bennifer” couple.

It didn’t even matter that Southern Charm star only appeared briefly during the Season 8 premiere, but she made that moment memorable.  Ex-Austen Kroll was clearly flustered with her appearance at Kathryn Dennis’ 30th birthday bash. And Austen’s date Olivia Flowers was threatened enough into calling Madison “homegirl” during the episode.

Madison doesn’t miss a beat, and after delivering the epic comeback of “you’ve got a million to bet?” to her ex, it came to light that the Maven salon owner responded to the “homegirl” comment in the most amusing fashion. During the premiere, Olivia told Austen, “We shouldn’t be going on our first date and talking about homegirl.” Referring to Madison.

Madison dropped a very public post for Olivia on her Instagram account.  Captioning a picture of herself in Newport Beach, California raising a glass to the camera, Madison wrote, “I’d rather be a homegirl than a homely girl.”

Not all of her followers found the post amusing. Some accused Madison of being “petty.” To which she responded, “do no harm, take no shit.”  In another response, the mother of one wrote, “so it’s fair for her to talk about me? Give me a break it’s TV lady! Grow up.”

Given the amount of backlash it created, Us Weekly asked Madison to clarify her comment. She explained, “I thought that Olivia calling me a homegirl, considering we weren’t friends, was kind of a dig. I’ve had nothing but nice things to say about her, to be honest. You guys know I’m sarcastic, but when I called her homely [it] could have been worse. I was thinking, like, homelss because I think she lives with her mom and dad.”

It’s all about reciprocity. Madison “will continue” responding until Olivia, “stops throwing” shade at her. I, personally, can’t wait for the next zinger.  Madison promised to dole out more. “I’m here for it,”she told the publication.

Clearly, the root of this feud is Olivia feeling territorial. Madison still seems to have an effect on Austen. It was a rough couple of years while the two were on-and-off.  They finally called it quits in December 2020. At the time, Madison confirmed the news saying, “We are not together right now. I am 1,000 percent single, and so is he.”

But both parties have now moved on. Madison is engaged to Brett Randle after seven months of dating, while Austen and Olivia are debuting their romance on Season 8.

When asked her opinion about the new Southern Charm darlings Madison responded, “I think she’s tall. There you go. I think I put her right there with Austen and I think they will be a great couple.” Madison clarified whether she thinks the two are a good match. “Like I said, they’re both tall,” she joked.

Austen made a prior statement about reliving his breakup with Madison. And he’s asking for a little perspective. The Kings Calling Brewing founder said, “I was like, ‘Austen, what are you doing?’ What you’re seeing [on TV] happened back in May, June, July. People assume that we broke up yesterday.”

Another interesting shift in dynamic this season is Madison and Craig Conover’s friendship. Craig was all about protecting his friend Austen before he and Madison broke up for good.  Now that both parties have moved, Craig and Madison are finding their footing again.

Craig and I being friends, we weren’t really concerned about Austen at all,” Madison explained.

As for Craig’s relationship with Paige DeSorbo, Madison is a fan. She gushed, “I love Paige. I’m a huge fan of Paige. I talk to her pretty regularly and Craig and I go way back.”

Madison added, “It’s like a brother and sister relationship. So when him and I fight or whatever it is never — I mean it got malicious [during the season 7 reunion] — but we’re good.”
