Dorit Kemsley’s Story Changes When It Comes to That Stolen $10K

Oh Dorit. I want so badly to sing your praises from the rooftop but you’re so … mysterious. Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Dorit Kemsley is back on the scene and back on our screens in Season 13 talking about how people are always stealing from her.

It has to be a string of bad luck, right? Unfortunate coincidences? Maybe Dorit looks like an easy mark because she adorns herself with visible high-end labels and jewels galore. If you remember, not only has Dorit had her home broken into several times, she had $10k in cash stolen out of her purse.

Dorit’s original story, via RHOBH, was the bag containing the cash was nabbed out of a shopping cart, as she began holiday shopping. In a recent interview with Variety, Dorit changed her tale and said the money wasn’t for gifts after all.

On the first episode of the new season, we found Dorit trying to cope with PTSD. She and PK Kemsley have been the victims of multiple home invasions over the years and much of Dorit’s Season 12 content revolved around the most recent event. What their RHOBH storylines never focus on is their massive financial issues.

It seems Dorit just can’t get a break because she believes three men in a supermarket robbed her after she withdrew $10k in cash. In Dorit’s interview segment, she explained the money was for Christmas gifts last year. First of all, you can’t withdraw $10k from an ATM, right? So she would have had to enter a bank and pull the money out. Then knowingly go to a “supermarket,” I’m so confused.

When Dorit had a chat with Variety, her tune changed drastically. “The cash was actually for bonuses,” she clarified. “It was bonuses for staff at the house. When you answer that question a few times in [the confessional] they kind of pull out the simplest answer.” Huh, one would think you would just go home after that kind of transaction. Unless you went shopping for gifts that are now suddenly staff bonuses. See, she’s mysterious.

Hopefully Dorit is getting along well and maybe not carrying as much cash around these days. Of course, what cash she does have should be going to the IRS, but that’s her business.

TELL US – DO YOU BELIEVE DORIT’S STORY? ARE YOU STILL CURIOUS AS TO WHY SHE WOULD WALK AROUND IN PUBLIC WITH $10K?
